WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – May 14, 2025 – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has named University of Wisconsin-Stout freshman Julia Imai to the 2024-25 Division III All-Region 3/Central Team
Imai, a first-year from Brookline, Mass., has made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut. The 2024 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Champion was honored as both the WIAC Golfer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. She capped her freshman campaign with an impressive eighth-place finish at the PGA Works Championship.
Imai owned a 75.50 stroke average and has finished in the top-8 in 9 of 11 events. She is the only WIAC golfer to receive the honor.
Imai is the fifth UW-Stout golfer to earn all-region honors, Joining Abbey Filipiak (2023, 24). Brittany McNett-Emerich (2013, 14, 15), Rachel Hernandez (2017, 18) and Mariah Chesley in 2015.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
