This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: April 28-May 4

THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: April 28 - May 4

SOFTBALL

The Blue Devils split a doubleheader with UW-Eau Claire, winning 9-6 and falling 15-1. The Blue Devils then dropped a double header with #15 UW-Oshkosh 7-4 and 9-2. 

Stephanie Kuhn went 7-13 (.538) with four RBI and a double in four games this week with an on base percentage of .538 and a slugging percentage of .615.  She was 3-4 with a double and an RBI in stouts win over  Eau Claire.  

Stout will close the 2025 regular season with six games this week. Stout will travel to UW-La Croose on Wednesday April 30. then will host Uw-Stevens Point on May 3 and UW-Whitewater on Sunday May 4. 

BASEBALL

The Blue Devils went 3-3. Sweeping a doubleheader at UW-Rivers Falls and going 1-3 against #1 UW-Whitewater over the weekend.

Leyten Bowers went 9-18 (.500) in six games helping the Blue Devils go 3-3. His on base percentage was .556 and slugging percentage was .833. He had 12 RBI, 6 runs scored, 5 walks, a HBP, 2 stolen bases, a double a triple a home run.  Against River Falls he hit a walk-off grand slam in game one , finishing a double short of the cycle.  in game 2 he went 1-2 with two walks and six RBI.  Against No. 1 Whitewater, He went 2-3 with 2 runs in Stout's 6-5 win. 

The Blue Devils wwill close out the 2025 regular season this weekend with a four-game series against UW-Oshkosh on campus at Nelson Field. Friday May 2 doubleheader starts at 1 p.m. and Saturday, May 3 first pitch is set for 12 p.m.

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The Blue Devils ran in three meets this weekend. Competing at the Drake Relays, The Kip Janvrin Invite and the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite. 

Braden Krystosek won the pole vault at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite with a vault of 4.88m.  That ranks 3rd in the conference and 20th in the nation.

Corrina Tvedt was 2nd in the 400 at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite with time of 58.08.  That ranks 4th in the conference.

Brooke Baumann won the discus at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite with a  throw of 42.97m.  That ranks 4th in the conference and 37th in the nation.

The Blue Devils will compete at the WIAC Championships in Oshkosh, Wis. at the Oshkosh Sports Complex Friday and Saturday May 2 and 3. 

WOMEN'S GOLF

The Blue Devils shot a day two 299 to rally for a second place finish at the UW-Whitewater Spring Inivte. 

Leading the charge for Stout was Abby Terada, who finished second overall with a five over  76-74-149. Sydney Grimm tied for third with a 78-72-150. Julia Imai, who tied for ninth with a 80-765-156. Brin Neumann was 13th with a 81-78-159 and Hallie Tulip was 29th with a 91-83-174.

Stout will close out the 2024-25 regular season hosting the UW-Stout Invite at Tanglewood greens on Sunday May 4. 

MEN'S GOLF

After a week off, The Blue Devil men's golf team returns to action at the Edgewood College Spring Quadrangular. 

Stout will travel to Middleton, Wis. on Friday, May 2 for the Edgewood College Spring Quadrangular at the Bishop's Bay Country Club.
