Jamie Beatty Named WIAC Newcomer of the Year

MADISON– UW-Stout freshman gymnast Jamie Beatty has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Newcomer of the Year following an outstanding debut season for the Blue Devils. Beatty's impressive performances throughout the year have earned her multiple accolades, including three WIAC All-Arounder of the Week honors.

Beatty capped off the regular season with a career-best all-around score of 38.600 at the WIAC Championships, placing second overall. Her score ranks as the second-best all-around performance in UW-Stout program history. She has consistently posted high marks throughout the season, scoring 38.400, 38.125, and 37.875 in all-around competition.

A standout on the uneven bars, Beatty twice recorded a career-best 9.750—first against Simpson College and later in a tri-meet against Winona State and UW-Oshkosh. This score is tied for the third-best bars performance in UW-Stout history.

Beatty has also delivered strong performances across all four apparatuses, boasting career-best scores of 9.625 on vault, 9.750 on bars, 9.650 on beam, and 9.750 on floor. She has been a consistent contributor on floor exercise, averaging 9.614 throughout the season.

Her efforts have helped UW-Stout achieve historic success as a team, including setting the top two bars scores in program history, the top vault score and second best floor exercise score.

Beatty has firmly established herself as one of the premier gymnasts in the WIAC, and will continue her stellar freshman campaign on March 22, when she competes at the NCGA National Championship in the all-around.
