The Blue Devils improved to 4-0 with a dramatic 9-8 over Concordia Wisconsin.
Mai Nou Vang delivered a standout performance in UW-Stout’s thrilling 9-8 victory over CUW, showcasing her scoring touch and clutch playmaking. Vang recorded a hat trick and added an assist, but it was her late-game heroics that sealed the win for the Blue Devils.
With the game tied and just 14 seconds remaining, Vang collected a long clearing pass from her goaltender at the opponent’s restraining line, weaved through three defenders, and buried the game-winning goal to lift Stout to a heart-stopping victory. She then secured the ensuing draw control, allowing the Blue Devils to run out the clock.
Emilia Bullock delivered a clutch performance in UW-Stout’s thrilling 9-8 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin, proving to be the backbone of the Blue Devils' defense. She recorded 17 saves—tied for the third most in program history—while also collecting six ground balls.
With the game on the line, Bullock was at her best. In a tense, tied fourth quarter, she made six crucial saves in the final six minutes, including two on free-position shots. As the clock wound down, she turned away four shots in the last 2:50 of regulation, highlighted by a critical stop with 43 seconds left and a game-saving free-position save with just 34 seconds remaining.
The Blue Devils will play twice this week. They host Mount Mercy on Wednesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. on Nelson Field. They they will open WIAC play on Saturday, March 29 when they Travel to La Crosse, Wis. to play the Eagles at 1 p.m.
