THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: FEB. 3-9

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils fell 84-76 in overtime to La Crosse last week.

Amanda scored a career-high 33 points against UW-La Crosse Wednesday night. She was 8-12 (66.7%) from the floor, including 3-4 from 3-point range and 14-16 from the free-throw line. She added 6 rebounds and two steals.

The Blue Devils will travel to Eau Claire, Wis. on Wednesday Feb. 5 to face the Blugolds. Stout will return home to face the UW-Whitewater Warhawks on Saturday Feb. 8. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 3:05 p.m.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils dropped a road contest at UW-La Crosse last Wednesday 90-53.

The Blue Devils will host UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday Feb. 5. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 7:05 p.m. Stout will then travel to Whitewater, Wis. on Saturday Feb. 8 for a 5:05 tip with the Warhawks.

GYMNASTICS

The Blue Devils scored a season-high 190.825 to win a dual meet with UW-Eau Claire. Stout set a school record with a 47.925 on the uneven bars. 

Jamie Beatty won the all-around with a career-best 38.125 (9th best in school history) to lead Stout to a 190.825 -185.725 win in a dual over UW-Eau Claire. She placed third in the vault with a career-best 9.600. Tied for first in the bars with a 9.650, to help the Blue Devils to a team best score of 47.925. She scored a 9.300 on the beam and won the floor exercise with a career-best 9.575. 

Effie Ferguson tied for first in the bars with a 9.650 to help lead the Blue Devils to a program record 47.925. She tied for third on the beam with a 9.750 and tied for third on the floor with a 9.525. 

The Blue Devils will travel to UW-La Crosse on Friday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Hall Gymnasium in La Crosse, Wis.

ICE HOCKEY

Stout rolled to a weekend road sweep of Northland College. The Blue Devils won 8-0 and 5-1 to pick up six points in the WIAC standings.  

Nicolas Pigeon had a seven-point weekend in a sweep over Northland. The center scored two goals in Thursday's win to bring his team-leading total to 12 goals on the season. He added an assist for a three-point game. On Saturday, He assisted on four of Stout's five goals, which is the most assists in a game in the WIAC this season. He is tied for first in the league in total points with 27. He was also 56 percent from the faceoff dot. 

The Blue Devils will host UW-Superior this weekend. Puck drop Friday and Saturday at Fanetti Community Center is set for 7:00 p.m. both nights. 

INDOOR TRACK

The Blue Devils hosted the Warren Bowlus Invite over the weekend. 

In the men’s events. Thomas Casey finished second in the 60H at the Warren Bowlus Invite with a time of 8.26.  His time ranks third in the WIAC, and 29th in the nation. Sam Knox won the pole vault at the Warren Bowlus Invite with a vault of 4.76m.  He ranks tied for first in the conference and 12th in the nation.

In the women’s events, Hannah Zastrow won the 60H at the Warren Bowlus Invite with a time of 8.72 which ranks first in the WIAC and 2nd in the nation.  She also finished second in the High Jump with a jump of 1.68m which ranks third in the WIAC and 8th in the nation. Leah Zastrow won the Pole Vault at the Warren Bowlus Invite with a vault of 3.79m.  She ranks second in the WIAC and seventh in the nation.

The Blue Devils will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. on Feb. 8 to compete at the Gopher Classic..
