This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Feb. 10-16

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils picked up two big wins last week to stay in second place in the WIAC standings. Stout beat UW-Eau Claire 73-60 on Wednesday and then cruised to a 87-60 win over #22 UW-Whitewater on Saturday.  

Lexi Wagner shot 61.9 percent from the floor (13-21) and 60 percent from 3-point range (9-15) to average 18 points, and 4.5 rebounds per game in two wins for the Blue Devils. At Eau Claire, She was 7-11 (4-7 3fg) for 19 points, six rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist.  Against Whitewater, she led Stout to an 87-60 win going 6-10 from the floor and 5-8 from 3-pt range with three rebounds, two assists and a block and a steal. 

The Blue Devils will travel to River Falls, Wis. on Wednesday Feb. 12 to face the Falcons. Stout will return home to face the UW-Platteville Pioneers on Saturday Feb. 15. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 3:05 p.m.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils dropped a pair of games last week. Falling to Eau Claire 80-79 on a last second shot and then dropping a road contest to Whitewater 87-69. 

The Blue Devils will host UW-River Falls on Wednesday Feb. 12. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 7:05 p.m. Stout will then travel to Platteville, Wis. on Saturday Feb. 15 for a 5:05 tip with the Pioneers.   

GYMNASTICS

The Blue Devils dropped a dual meet with UW-La Crosse 191.475-187.650.  

Gillian won the all-around with a score of 37.450.  She scored a 9.450 on the vault, she tied for first in the uneven bars with a career-high 9.625. She scored a 9.500 on the balance beam. 

Jessica Qualich won the vault in a dual meet at UW-La Crosse scoring a 9.625

The Blue Devils will host Simpson College on Friday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Johnson Fieldhouse. 

ICE HOCKEY

Stout dropped a pair of games to #11 UW-Superior, falling 2-1 in overtime and dropping 4-1 decision on Saturday.   

The Blue Devils will wrap up the 2024-25 regular season with a weekend series at UW-Eau Claire with home ice advantage on the line. Puck drop from Hobbs Ice Center is set for 7 p.m. both nights.  

INDOOR TRACK

The Blue Devils competed at the Gopher Classic over the weekend.  

In the men’s events. Thomas Casey finished 5th in the 60H at the Gopher Classic with a time of 8.25 which ranks 4th in the conference.

In the women’s results, Lilly Roberts finished second in the 400m at the with a time of 58.93 which is fifth in the conference.  She also ran 9.10 in the 60H prelim with ranks seventh in the conference

Jenna Driscoll finished 2nd in the LJ at the Gopher Classic with a jump of 5.53m, which ranks 5th in the conference.  She also finished 2nd in the 60M dash with a time of 7.87.

The Blue Devils will host the Stout Quad on Friday, Feb. 14. The meet starts at 4 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room in the Sports and Fitness Center.

SOFTBALL

The Blue Devils will open the 2025 season on Saturday, Feb. 15 with a pair of games at the MSU-Dome in Mankato, Minn. Stout will face Gustavus Adolphus at 3:30 p.m. and Macalester College at 8:30 p.m.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

The Blue Devils will open the 2025 season on Sunday, Feb.16 with an exhibition game at Northern Michigan. The game is set for 4 p.m. eastern in the Superior Dome.
