ST. PAUL – Effie Ferguson scored a 9.800 on the floor exercise as the UW-Stout gymnastics team scored a 189.075 to win a dual meet with Hamline University Friday Night at Walker Fieldhouse
Ferguson's score of a 9.800 on the floor tied a handful of others for the third best score on the floor in Stout history. She also scored a 9.675 to win the balance beam.
Stout opened with a season best 46.425 on the uneven bars.
Sarah Lutz led Stout with a 9.550 to take second.
Gillian Cummins scored a 9.400 to take fourth.
Stout took the vault with a 46.700.
Taylar Schaefer won with a 9.650.
Jaidyn Carroll tied for second with a season-high 9.500 and Cummins scored her second 9.400 of the meet.
The Blue Devils won the floor exercise with a 48.275, which tied the seventh best score in program history.
Isabela Krulich took second behind Ferguson with a season-high 9.700.
Kaylie Kassing scored a career-best 9.675 to take third and Schaefer was fourth with a 9.600.
Stout wrapped up the meet with nearly a three-point win in the balance beam with a 47.675. Krulich took second place again behind Ferguson with a 9.600. Cummins was third with a9.550 and
Cassidy Lennard was fourth with 9.500.
Schaefer won the all-around with a personal best 37.750.
The Blue Devils will return home next Friday, Jan. 31 to host UW-Eau Claire. The dual meet is set to start at 6 p.m. in the Johnson Fieldhouse.
