This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Sept. 16-22

MEN'S SOCCER

The Blue Devils picked up their first shutout with a 1-0 win over Minnesota Morris. Roberto Perez scored in the 27th minute and Lucas Lang made three saves for the clean sheet.

The Blue Devils will have two road matches this week. Stout will travel to Ripon, Wis. to face Ripon College on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. and then head to Storm Lake, Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 21 to face Buena Vista at 7:30 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL

The Blue Devils went 2-1 in four matches

Brooke hit .307 to lead the Blue Devils to a 2-1 record this week. She totaled 34 kills (3.40 a set) with 25 digs, four aces and five blocks. She set a career-high 20 kills and three blocks against Concordia (Wis.) leading Stout to their first win over the Falcons. 

Terrah totaled 40 digs (3.64 D/S) in three matches this week. She recorded a 10-dig, 10 assist double-double vs Crown. 

Stout will travel to Appleton, Wis. to face Lawrence University on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The Blue Devils will then open WIAC play on Friday, Sept. 20 when they welcome UW-Platteville to the Johnson Fieldhouse. 

CROSS COUNTRY

After a week off, the Blue Devils Cross Country teams will compete this Saturday, Sept. 20 at the St. Olaf, Invitational. 

The women race at 10 a.m. and the men race at 11 a.m. in Northfield, Minn. 

FOOTBALL

The Blue Devils topped #16 Dickinson State 22-20 on Saturday.

Stout built a 22-0 lead and denied DSU on a potential game-tying 2-point conversion attempt with 13 seconds left to play. 

Adam Moen was 18-30 for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Blaine Seidl led the Blue Devil defense with 13 total tackles in a 22-20 road win over #16 Dickinson State. He assisted on a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss with two quarterback hurries. 

The Blue Devils return home to host the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff from Williams Stadium is set for 6 p.m.  Before the game UW-Stout will hold a short ceremony to honor their seniors. 

WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Blue Devils fell 2-0 at Bethel on Saturday and Minnesota Morris canceled their match on Sunday. 

The Blue Devils will have the week to prepare for a home match against Viterbo on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m.

MEN'S GOLF

The Blue Devils finished up the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite today and will travel to Kansasville, Wis. this weekend to play in the Benedictine Invite Sept 20-21. 

WOMEN'S GOLF

The Blue Devils won the UW-La Crosse Fall Invite by 12 strokes. 

Sydney Grimm won with a two day score of 147 (70-77) to win the event by two strokes

The Blue Devils will travel to Madison, Wis. to compete at the UW-Whitewater Invitational at TPC Wisconsin Sept. 22-23. 

WOMEN'S TENNIS

The Blue Devils dropped two matches 9-0 over the weekend. Falling to UW-La Crosse and Hamline University. 

UW-Stout Women's Tennis will be traveling to Appleton on Saturday, September 21st, to play in a triangular against Lawrence University and Dubuque University.
