TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Mckayla Felton,
Arely Jaime Luevano and
Brekkyn Lammert all raced to top-100 finishes at the NCAA Division III National Championship at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course Saturday morning.
Felton ran the 6k race in a time of 21:53 to finish 46
th overall in 293 runner field. Jaime Luevano was 85
th with a 22:15 and Lammert finished 91
st two seconds back at 22:17.
All three Blue Devils ran the opening 1k with the lead pack in a time of 3:14. Felton moved into 40
th place at the 3k mark with a time of 10:22. Lammert was 10 seconds back in 10:32 and Jaime Luevano crossed the split at 10:34.
At the 5k split, Felton was in 44
th at 18:03, Jaime Luevano moved up to 93
rd at 18:26 and Lammert was 96
th at 18:28. All three were a second part in the last 1000 meters, running 3:48 to the finish. Felton finished in 46
th overall with a 21:53. Jaime Luevano picked up eight spots to finish 85
th in 22:15 and Lammert passed five to finished 91
st at 22:17.
