UW-Stout's Kyle Steiner Inducted into UW-Stevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stout's head men's and women's track and field coach Kyle Steiner was inducted into the UW-Stevens Point Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 4.

Steiner is in his 11th year as head men's and women's track and field coach and 14th with the Blue Devil program. Over his career, Steiner has coached 10 National Champions, 91 All-Americans, 194 national qualifiers, 143 All-Region athletes, and 70 WIAC Champions. In the classroom, Steiner has coached 30 CSC Academic All-District selections, 10 CSC Academic All-Americans, 157 USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.

At UW-Stevens Point, Steiner competed in track and field from 2006 to 2008. A seven-time All-American, Steiner won a national championship as a member of the 4x400-meter relay in 2008 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He was national runner-up in the decathlon in both 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Steiner was named the National Field Athlete of the Year. He was twice the outdoor Regional Field Athlete of the Year in 2007 and 2008. Five times during his career, Steiner won a WIAC Championship – twice in the decathlon, twice in the heptathlon and in the indoor high jump in 2007. Steiner still owns the school record for the decathlon, heptathlon and indoor 4x400-meter relay.
