NORMAL, ILL. - The UW-Stout men's golf team saw its first action of 2023 at the Illinois Wesleyan Invite and placed 28th of 37 teams.
The Blue Devils finished 28th with a two-day total of 635 strokes. Stout shot a 323 on the first day and shot nine strokes better on day two with a 312.
Austin Gaby led the way for the Blue Devils, He shot an even par 72 on the second day to finish in a tie for 15th (77-72 – 149).
Hunter Neumann shot a 78 both days to tie for 82nd (78-78 - 156).
Cole Noreen carded a 80 on the first day and then cut three strokes off that on day two shooting a 77 to finish tied for 92nd with a 165 total.
Matt Mueller tied for 194th with a day one 88 and a day two 85 for total of 173.
Dalton Anderson shot an 88 on the first day and a 87 on day two for a total of 175 to finish in a tie for 200th.
Stout will be off next week and will be back in action on April 22-23 when they travel to Decorah, Iowa to play in the Luther Spring Invite.
