WINONA, MINN. - The UW-Stout gymnastics team took third place with a score of 190.275 at the NCGA Championships Saturday afternoon.
Kiara Brown placed second in the all-around with a score of 37.800.
"This group of 18 young women really took ownership of this team and are the second team in the history of UW-Stout Gymnastics to place in the top-3 in the country!" head coach
Becky Beaulieu said "I couldn't be happier for them!"
The Blue Devils set a school record in the balance beam with a score 38.325.
Isabela Krulich led the way with a career-best 9.775 to tie for third place.
Ashtyn Gagner tied for sixth with a career-best 9.750.
Carlie Beatty tied for ninth with a score career-best 9.725 and
Effie Ferguson scored a 9.625 for 17th place.Â
"This is the most amazing feeling I've ever had," senior
Carlie Beatty said. "To make it to nationals and have this experience with my team is once in a lifetime."
Stout scored 46.375 in the uneven bars. Brown tied for fourth in the uneven bars tying a career best score of 9.700.
Camille Lindley placed 14th with a score of 9.550.Â
Anna Mielke tied for fifth in the vault with a career-high score of 9.750. Stout as a team, scored 47.975. Gagner tied for 12th with a score of 9.675.Â
The Blue Devils scored a 47.600 in the floor exercise.
Gillian Cummins scored a career-high 9.725 to finish 12th, and Brown added a personal best 9.675.Â
"This team in 2023 has taught me that today's athletes want their voices heard,"Â Beaulieu said. "I now see my role as elevating their voices. We talked about the athletes write the pages, each of them have a chapter, and I as their coach help publish their story, it's about the journey not the destination."
