WINONA, MINN. - The Stout gymnastics team split at the Winona Tri Meet Friday afternoon. Stout finished second with 185.150 points, falling to UW-La Crosse (188.425) and defeating Winona State (180.300).
Stout finished second in the vault with 47.175 points, led my
Kiara Brown's 9.500, which was good for fourth overall in the event.
Gillian Cummins scored a 9.450,
Jessica Qualich scored 9.425 and
Isabela Krulich and
Gabrielle Winstead each scored 9.400 and
Anna Mielke and
Ashtyn Gagner each scores 9.250.
The Blue Devils finished second as a team in the uneven bars with a score of 45.625, again led by Brown who finished third int he event with a score of 9.625.
Teagan Green scored 9.100, Cummings scored 9.025
Alia Wilson scored 8.975 and
Effie Ferguson scored 8.900.
Sarah Lutz (7.650),
Camille Lindley (7.450) and
Emma Brittingham scored a 7.300.
Stout won the balance beam with a score of 47.150. Krulich finished second overall with a score of 9.600. Brown was the second Stout finisher with a score of 9.500. Ferguson scored 9.475,
Carlie Beatty scored a 9.375, Winstead scored 9.200 and Wilson scored a 8.600 to round the the scoring six for Stout. Gagner (9.650) and
Heidi Benningfield (8.575) also competed.
The Blue Devils took second in the floor exercise with a team score of 45.200. Brown came third overall with a score 9.375. Krulich scored a 9.175, Winstead and
Genevieve Czaplewski each scored a 9.100. Beatty scored a 8.450, Gagner finished with a score of 8.325 and Qaulich scored 8.900.
For the second straight meet
Kiara Brown won the all-around with a score of 38.000.
Stout will return to action Monday, January 23 when the travel to Chapel Hill N.C. to face the university of North Carolina and Yale at the Carolina Tri-Meet.
