Edgewood College Classic Final results

JANESVILLE (September 2, 2022) - Inclement weather in the Janesville area forced the cancellation of the Edgewood College Culver's Fall Classic at Glen Erin Golf Club Saturday. The final results become a one-day meet that was contest Friday.

UW-Stout finished second, while Austin Gaby (Sr, Verona) finished in a tie for third.

Stout is scheduled to be at the Minnesota Golf Classic hosted by Bethel University at the Pioneer Creek Golf Course in Maple Plain, Minn., Sept. 10-11.

Edgewood College Culver's Classic Day One Results

JANESVILLE (September 2, 2022) - UW-Stout's Austin Gaby used the final four holes as a ladder as he climbed the leader board and is in third place after the first day of the Edgewood College Culver's Fall Classic at Glen Erin Golf Club Friday. Gaby's climb helped to push the Blue Devils into second place in the 21-team event.

Stout started the meet on the 10th hole, and Gaby was four-over after the first nine holes. Gaby played birdie on the par-4 hole one, but then hit two pars and two bogeys on the next four holes. The senior, playing near his hometown of Verona, shot three birdies over the final four holes, playing one-under on par-4 No. 6, par-5 No. 8 and par-4 No. 9 to close out the day. Gaby played his first nine four-over and his second nine two-under to finish at two-over 73.

But Gaby wasn't alone in the push. After the Stout team shot a team 20-over on their first nine holes, the team pulled it together and shot at 1-under on their final nine holes to finish the day at 303, two strokes behind first place Carthage College.

Dalton Anderson (So, Cottage Grove, Minn) came back from a bad double-bogey on No. 17 and played his last 10 holes at two-under. Immediately after the double, Anderson hit back-to-back birdies on par-5 No. 18 and the par-4 No. 1. Anderson played his final 10 holes with four birdies, four at even and two holes at 1-under. Anderson is in a tie for seventh at 3-over 74.

Hunter Neumann (So, Warrens) and Matt Mueller (So, Baldwin) are tied for 30th with a 78 and Scott Springer (Sr, Andover, Minn) is tied for 40th with an 80.

The Stout B team was tied for sixth with a 312.

Freshman Cole Noreen (Marshfield) is currently tied for seventh with a 3-over 74 in his collegiate debut. Noreen played 11 holes even and had two birdies. Eugene Gregorich (So, Amherst Junction) in his collegiate debut is tied for 16th after collecting three birdies on the day. Connor Nelson is tied for 42nd with an 80. Ansem Nomm (Jr, Minocqua) is tied for 59th with an 82 and Owen Moesch (Fr, Shawano) is tied for 81st with an 85.

The two-day event will conclude Saturday, Sept. 3 with an 8:30 a.m. start.
