Minnesota Golf Classic
MAPLE PLAIN, Minn (September 10, 2022) - UW-Stout's
Hunter Neumann played his best round of collegiate golf and still found himself in a tie for 19th at the Minnesota Golf Classic at Pioneer Creek Golf Club Saturday.
Neumann, a sophomore from Warrens, is tied with eight other players and turned in an even-par 72, hitting three birdies for the day. Neumann's previous best collegiate score was a 73 at the Jim Weatherbee Classic last March.
With the University of Minnesota hosting a meet this weekend, coaches from several Division I schools including Baylor, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Kansas and Yale, sent approximately 30 individual players to compete in the meet. Eighteen different players scored under par and four players are tied for first with a four-under 68, including UW-Eau Claire's Cole Jahnke.
As a team, Stout is tied for eighth of 15 teams with 307 strokes.
Austin Gaby (Sr, Verona) is tied for 53rd with a four-over 76.
Scott Springer is tied for 72nd with a 79; Matt Miller is tied for 77th with an 80 and
Dalton Anderson is tied for 97th with an 84.
The meet is scheduled to conclude Sunday, Sept. 11 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Sunday will include two 18-hole rounds.
