First Day Results
LA CROSSE (May 6, 2022) -Â UW-Stout's
Demi Ploor found herself on the victory podium twice on the first day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Track and Field Championship Friday and she brought three of her teammates along when the awards for the javelin were handed out at UW-La Crosse's Veteran Memorial Stadium.Â
Ploor placed second in the hammer throw with a career-best throw of 176-feet, 9-inches and finished third in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 118-1. Joining Ploor on the podium for the javelin were second place finisherÂ
Raegan Sorensen (124-11), seventh place
Lexi Cole (114-0) and eighth place
Hannah Miller (110-11). Sorensen's toss is now the fourth-best in school history, Ploor's is fifth, and Cole's ninth. Ploor's hammer throw is the second-best throw in school history.
Sorensen also finished fourth in the pole vault with a collegiate-best leap of 11-9.
Mackenzie Huber placed seventh in the hammer (155-9).
Payton Schneider was 23rd in the hammer (129-6).Â
Grace Maurer and
Hannah Zastrow clocked the best times in the preliminaries of the 400-meter and 110-hurdles, respectively. Maurer finished in a time of 57.16 seconds in the 400 and Zastrow finished with a time of 14.10 in the hurdles. Maurer placed sixth in the preliminaries in the 200 (25.61).
Kaylie Raths placed eighth in the preliminaries of the 400 hurdles (1:07.19). Finals for the events will be Saturday.Â
Jenna Driscoll finished seventh in the long jump (17-5.50).
LaRissa Block was 14th (16-3.25) and Miller was 16th (15-11).Â
Mckayla Felton just missed the podium in the 3000-steeplechase, finishing ninth (11:34.97).
Katelyn Knapp was 13th in the 400 (1:00.08),
Libby Meyer was 14th in the 10K (39:36.04).  In the 100-hurdles,
Caitlin Harrison was 10th (15.75);
Kaylie Raths was 12th (15.33);
Lexi Cole was 16th (16.80); and
Adrianne Krueger was 17th (16.87). Cole was 11th in the 400-hurdles.Â
After the first day, the Blue Devils were in second place. The meet will conclude Saturday, May 7.Â
