UW-Stout 186.300, UW-Eau Claire 179.675
MENOMONIE (February 4, 2022) - UW-Stout swept all first place finishes and went on to a 186.300-179.675 win over UW-Eau Claire, Friday at Johnson Fieldhouse.
Mikala Bugge, Stout's lone senior, celebrated Senior Night in fashion by winning the vault with a 9.625 and took second on the uneven bars with a 9.350.
Kiara Brown captured two first place finishes, winning the uneven bars with a 9.600, then set a personal-best in winning the balance beam with a 9.650.
Effie Ferguson scored a collegiate-best in winning the floor exercise with a 9.625 and was second on the balance beam with a 9.425.
Freshman
Isabela Krulich competed in her first collegiate all-around competition and captured the event with a 37.250. Krulich, the reigning WIAC gymnast of the week, was second on the floor exercise (9.575), fourth on the balance beam (9.250) and uneven bars (9.150) and fifth on the vault (9.375).
Stout took four of the top five spots on the vault with Bugge leading the way, followed by a third place tie between
Gabrielle Winstead, with a personal-best 9.375, and
Jensen DeJong.
Carlie Beatty was third on the balance beam with a 9.300 and sixth on the floor exercise.
Genevieve Czaplewski was fifth on the floor exercise (9.325).
As a team, the young Blue Devils set a season-high on the floor exercise with a 47.050.
The Blue Devils return to action Friday, Feb. 11 at Hamline University at 6:30 p.m.
