Final Results
PLATTEVILLE (February 26, 2022) – The UW-Stout women's track team finished fourth at the 2022 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Track and Field Championship (presented by Culver's) Saturday, the team's highest finish since also finishing fourth at the 2018 meet.
On the second day of the meet, Stout was paced by four third place individual performances –
Demi Ploor in the weight throw,
Hannah Zastrow in the 60-hurdles,
Hannah Miller in the triple jump and
Emily Cunningham in the 3000-meter.
Ploor uncorked a three of 53-feet, 9-inches, easily a personal best in the weight throw for the senior. Previous to Saturday's meet, Ploor had thrown over 50 feet once, that a mark of 50-4.50 Feb. 11 at the UW-Stout Quadrangular. Ploor was also selected to the all-sportsmanship team.
Mackenzie Huber was 14th in the weight throw with a mark of 47-3 and
Payton Schneider was 23rd with a distance of 44-5.
Zastrow was third in the 60-hurdles in a time of 8.81. Zastrow had also finished third in the high jump a day earlier.
Miller led a group of Stout triple jumpers that all reached personal bests today. The senior co-captain led her teammates with a leap of 37-feet, 10-inches.
Jenna Driscoll was ninth with a mark of 35-7.25 and freshman
Kehau Phillips was 13th with a leap of 34-2.
Cunningham ran a collegiate-best in the 3000-meter in a time of 10-minutes, 11.90-seconds. Cunningham beat her previous best of 10:16.03. McKayla Felton was 16th in the 3000 (10:47.07), Arely Jamie Luevano was 17th (10:53.29) and
Libby Meyer 21st (10:58.62).
Grace Maurer climbed onto the championship podium twice on Saturday. A day after winning the 400-meter title, Maurer was fifth in the 200-meter with a school record time of 25.82. Maurer was also a member of the fifth place 4x400-meter relay team along with
Kiley Lehman,
Sydney Reisner and
Katelyn Knapp with a time of 4:05.11.
Sydney Reisner was 10th in the 800-meter in a time of 2:21.78.
Dalie Thomas was 14th (2:23.11),
Brekkyn Lammert was 22nd (2:27.29) and
Claire Ebertowski was 23rd (2:27.53).
The Blue Devils will be at the Wartburg College Last Chance Meet, Saturday, March 5. The NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships are March 11-12 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
