THIS WEEK'S GAMES: The Blue Devils (3-7, 0-0 WIAC) game with Bethany Lutheran College scheduled for Saturday, March 27, has been canceled and will not be made up. The games with Crown College, set for Sunday, March 28, have also been canceled due to weather and unplayable field conditions.
THE 2021 WIAC SCHEDULE: Teams will play their usual 14-game regular-season league schedule, while the conference tournament has been expanded to eight teams with quarterfinal games between the No. 8 seed/No. 1 seed, No. 7 seed/No. 2 seed, No. 6 seed/No. 3 seed and No. 5 seed/No. 4 seed on May 11. The winning teams will advance to the semifinals on May 13. The quarterfinal and semifinal games will be hosted by the higher seed. The championship will feature the two semifinal winners in a three-game series on May 15 and 16 (if necessary) at the higher seed. The teams will also play several non-conference games among themselves.

PARKING: There is no free parking for weekday baseball & softball games. Regular parking restrictions are strictly enforced. Parking for baseball and softball spectators during weekday games is restricted to on-street parking and in Lot 29. Spectators that park in Lot 29 (located just north of the outdoor track) must pay parking fees and register their license plate at the pay station near the main East entrance of the Sports & Fitness Center. Lot 29 parking restrictions end at 4 pm on Monday through Friday.
DO NOT PARK in Lot 4 during the week. Lot 4 is the parking lot located to the west of the Sports & Fitness Center and north of Don & Nona Williams Stadium (the football stadium).
Lot 4 is only open to the general public from 1 p.m. on Fridays until 9 p.m. on Sundays. There is no general parking in Lot 4 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays and not until 1 pm on Fridays. Team buses may park on the east side (outdoor track side - not the metered side) of 3rd Street East. Parking is permitted in all university lots on weekends.

Bella Anderson make up the remainder of the roster. It was 356 days in between games from when the 2020 season was canceled to when the Blue Devils opened with UW-Superior, Feb. 27. Following a 19-18 overall record in 2019, Stout went 3-1 last season before the season came to a premature end after a pair of games March 8, 2020, in Rosemount, Ill. Practices resumed in the fall in a socially-distanced way and, at the beginning, in pods to keep the numbers down on the field. Indoor practice resumed in late January with the entire team working together.
Becky Iaccino begins her sixth season as the Blue Devil head coach. She is assisted by
Chris Iliopoulos, Jessica Stine and Sam Hintzman.
AT THE PLATE: Korin Hall leads the Blue Devils, batting .524 (11-21) with 10 runs scored and has stolen three bases in six games played.
Meghan Kelly is hitting .440 (11-25) with six RBI and three doubles.
Kaylee Peterson had a solid weekend and moved her batting average up to .400 (8-20) with three RBI, a triple and a double.
Kelly Beck is hitting .375 (6-16) over four games.
Michala Belter has appeared in five games and is hitting .364 (4-11).

IN THE CIRCLE: The Blue Devils will rely on seniors

Mackensie Wolterstorff in relief roles, but Wolterstorff has earned one start. Wolterstorff and Kleinschmidt is 1-0, while Bruns is 1-2, Wolterstorff 1-1 and Kunstmann 0-2. Wolterstorff leads the team in strikeouts, fanning 11. Bruns has six Ks, Kunstmann five and Kleinschmidt four. Bruns has started four games and thrown 16.1 innings, while Kunstmann has started three and pitched 15.0. Kleinschmidt has made appearances and thrown 9.2 innings.
BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Devils 1-3 last weekend, falling twice at St. Thomas, March 20, and splitting with St. Benedict to snap a five-game losing skid, losing the first game, 13-4, but coming back for a 6-5 win. |

SCOUTING CROWN COLLEGE: The Storm haven't played since March 17 and are 0-4. Crown is scheduled to be at St. Olaf College, Friday, March 26. Laryssa Vik is hitting .333. Kaylee Wilson is hitting .273 with three doubles. Ashley Earick, Abbie Carroll and Maddie Noble have seen the most time in the circle. Earick has an ERA of 3.12 over 8.2 innings pitched. Carroll and Noble have both thrown 5.2 innings. |

SCOUTING LUTHER COLLEGE: The Norse are off to a 9-3 start, but split a couple of tight games the last time out, downing Coe College, 5-3, in 11 innings, then losing to Coe, 2-0, last weekend. Belle Berg (.471), Sydney Schultz (.436) and Katie Brennan (.410) are leading the way at the plate. Berg and Schultz have nine RBI, while Brennan has driven in 10 runs. Kendra Cooper has seen the most time in the circle, posting a 6-0 record with an ERA of 0.54 with 44 strikeouts over 39.0 innings pitched. The Norse hold a 5-2 lead in the series. The teams split two games in Florida in 2019, with Stout winning the first meeting, 6-0, and Luther bouncing back for a 5-3 win. |

SCOUTING BETHANY LUTHERAN COLLEGE: Bethany Lutheran is 6-10 on this young season, and were 2-2 last week in the Viking Classic, downing Finlandia, 2-1, and Gustavus Adolphus, 3-1, but falling to Concordia College twice, 6-5, 4-0. Zoe Kinakin leads the team at the plate (.381) with seven RBI and six doubles. Haley Stockman is batting .371 with six RBI and three doubles. Kassidy Cunningham has worked 58.2 innings so far, striking out 36, posting a 5-6 record with a 4.41 ERA. Alyssa Kosta has thrown 39.1 innings, with 20 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.20. Stout and Bethany have met only one other time, and Stout took both games, 4-1, 9-4, April 8, 2019, in Menomonie. |

COACH BECKY IACCINO: Blue Devil coach
Becky Iaccino (83-79 Stout / 101-99 overall) is in her sixth year as the head coach of the Blue Devils with the 2021 season. Iaccino played professionally in Italy
from 2003 to 2011 and with the Italian National team from 2005-07. She has been the head coach at Marian University where she was selected as conference coach of the year, and has eight years of experience as an assistant coach at Division I and Division III programs.

Korin Hall was named the WIAC position player of the week and
Mackensie Wolterstorff the WIAC pitcher of the week after a season-opening sweep of UW-Superior, Feb. 27.
ON DECK: The Blue Devils are off until they host UW-Eau Claire, Thursday, April 8 in the WIAC opener beginning at 3 p.m. The Blue Devils will be at UW-La Crosse, Saturday, April 10.
