COLFAX (November 13, 2021) - UW-Stout's
Emily Cunningham finished 16th to earn all-North Regional honors as the Blue Devils placed eighth at the NCAA Division III North Regional Meet at Whitetail Golf Course Saturday.
Cunningham paced the Blue Devils with a time of 22-minutes, 36.43-second on the 6-kilometer course, a collegiate-best for the freshman. The race was the third time the Blue Devils competed on the Whitetail course and Cunningham topped her time from two weeks ago on the same course at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Cross Country Championship when she finished at 23:03.3. Cunningham's previous best time came at the Augustana Invitational when she ran 22:50.7.Â
McKayla Felton placed 40th with a time of 23:08.09.
Katelyn Brockman was 50th (23:08.09),
Dalie Thomas was 71st (23:49.45),
Sydney Reisner was 73rd (23:50.18),
Brekkyn Lammert 88th (24:04.03) and Arely Jamie-Luevano 99th (24:16.51).Â
Stout entered the meet ranked eighth in the North Region. UW-La Crosse won the meet, followed by UW-Eau Claire. Carleton Collegewas third, St. Olaf College fourth, UW-Oshkosh fifth, UW-Stevens Point sixth and the College of St. Benedict seventh.
The winning North Regional team will secure an automatic berth into the Division III Championship that will be held next Saturday, Nov. 20, at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The 32-team meet will also include nine other regional champions and 22 at-large selections.Â
Individually, the top seven finishers from each region not on one of the team qualifiers will also earn an invitation to the national championship.
The top 35 finishers at the Division III North Regional will receive all-region status. Team and individual qualifiers will be announced this Sunday onÂ
