MENOMONIE (January 15, 2021) - The UW-Stout men's golf team received votes in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Pre-Spring Poll by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Stout received four votes in the inaugural poll released Friday. UW-Eau Claire was tied for 18th. Illinois Wesleyan University received 12 first place votes to take the top spot. Huntingdon ranks second, followed by Emory, Carnegie Mellon, and Methodist to round out the top-five. Piedmont, which received two first-place votes, ranks sixth, followed by Hampden Sydney, Mary Hardin Baylor, Guilford, and St. Thomas (MN), all earned a spot in the Top 10.
The COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the second semester of the 2019-20 season, as well as the fall semester of the 2020-21 season. No schedule has been announced, but the Blue Devils are tentatively planning to play a spring season.
Andrew Delong is in his second year as the Blue Devil men's golf coach and was announced Thursday as UW-Stout's director of golf and as the UW-Stout women's golf coach.
