Blue Devil track competes at La Crosse Twilight

UW-La Crosse Twilight Meet

LA CROSSE (April 24, 2018) - UW-Stout competed at the UW-La Crosse Twilight Meet Tuesday at Veterans Stadium.

Brent Heilman finished second in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash in collegiate-best time of 11.00-seconds, but then took off a little bit more time to win the event in the finals in a time of 10.79.

Brian Mathews was second in the 1500m (4:29.66)

Josh Freyholtz was third in the pole vault with a height of 15-feet, 8.50-inches, his best pole vault mark since the 2017 WIAC outdoor championship. Robert Mesenburg was fifth (15-2.75) and Brenden Buryska seventh (13-3).

The Blue Devils' Anton Proksch, Alec Benzinger and Kevin Ruechel finished second, third and fourth in the shot put. Proksch had a mark of 48-feet, 4.50-inches, Benzinger 46-6.75 and Ruechel 46-0.

On the women's side, the Blue Devils swept the top three spots in the discus and took four of the top five places and six of the top 10 spots. Heidi LIeffort won the event with a toss of 151-10, with Lydia Meier second (144-10) and Kayla Pabst third (133-2). Ash Patterson finished fifth (129-4), Kami Sawtelle was eighth (119-1) and Morgan Denton ninth (117-10).

Meier and Pabst finished first and second, respectively, in the hammer throw, with Meier taking a mark of 179-4 and Pabst 159-5.  Sawtelle was seventh (132-7) and Alyson Wilcox eighth (131-3).

Freshman Emma Wittliff was second in the shot put (39-0.50). Denton was fifth (38-6.25), Sawtelle eighth (36-11), Demi Ploor ninth (36-9) and Taylor Baker 10th (36-0.75)

Stephanie Pladies captured the high jump with a mark of 5-4.25. Raelin Sorensen was third (5-0.25) and Mariah Lang fourth (4-10.25). Aryn Benn jumped 37-0.25 to finish second in the triple jump. Hannah Miller was fourth (34-2.25).

Tymesia McFadden was second in the 200m (25.98), followed by Shannah Laehn in third (26.23). Emma Bullard was fifth (26.27) and Clarice Tume ninth (26.52).  Laehn finished third in the preliminaries of the 100m (12.77), but did not compete in the finals. Sprints

• Shanna Laehn finished third in the preliminaries of the 100m (12.77), but did not compete in the finals. Davia Clark was fifth in the prelims (12.75), Sam Smith 13th (13.14) and Bria Thomas 15th (13.41)
• Tymesia McFadden was second in the 200m (25.98), followed by Laehn in third (26.23). Emma Bullard was fifth (26.27), Clarice Tume ninth (26.52), Nikki Nelson 16th (27.21), Thomas 21st (28.03) and Stephanie Plaides 23rd (28.33).
• Raelin Sorensen was sixth in the 400m (1:02.12) and Claire Zais was seventh (1:04.09)

 
Hurdles and Relays

• Miranda Scholten was fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:13.80).
• The 4x100-relay team of Shelby Larson, Sam Smith, Clarice Tume and Aryn Benn finished fifth (54.32).

 
Jumps

• Stephanie Pladies captured the high jump with a mark of 5-4.25. Raelin Sorensen was third (5-0.25), Mariah Lang fourth (4-10.25)
• Kristen Teupel was sixth in the pole vault (10-8.75), Demi Ploor seventh (10-2.75), Jilian Holt ninth (9-9) and Marissa VanTassel 12th (8-3.25)
• Pladies was eighth in the long jump (15-8.75), Hannah Miller 10th (14-1075), Shelby Larson 13th (14-8.75) and Bria Thomas 15th (13-9.50)
• Aryn Benn jumped 37-0.25 to finish second in the triple jump. Hannah Miller was fourth (34-2.25)

 
Throws

• Lucas Carroll was fourth in the 400m (51.96) and Dillon Keller seventh (53.08)

 
Mid-Distance, Distance, Hurdles and Relays

• David Rosenlund finished eighth in the 800m (2:03.42)
• Brian Mathews was second in the 1500m (4:29.66)
• Parker Rongstad placed eighth in the 110-hurdles (16.16) and fifth in the finals (15.55)
• Jude Pelowski was sixth in the 400-hurdles (1:01.72) and Seth Plenge was seventh (1:03.26).
• The 4x100-relay team of Noah Bielinski, Brent Heilman, Ross Thompson and Austin Borcharddt playce fourth (43.83).
• The 4x400-relay team of Mason Barth, Jasiah Scott, Jack Hoaby and Jude Pelowski was fourth (3:48.00).

 
Jumps

• Alex Grulkowski was fifth in the high jump (5-10).
• Josh Freyholtz was third in the pole vault (15-2.75). Robert Mesenburg was fifth (15-2.75), Brenden Buryska seventh (13-3)
• Spencer Wilhelm and Isaac Lee finished third and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump, with Wilhelm marking a 41-6 and Lee a 41-4.50.

 
Throws

• In the hammer throw, Proksch was fifth (155-3) and Magerl eighth (129-3).
• Alex Grulkowski was fifth in the javelin (120-6) and Brenden Buryska eighth (109-11).
