THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION: After two weeks at home the Blue Devils (3-1) will take to the road for the next two weeks and will open that road stand with a trip to Hamline University, Friday, Feb. 2 for a 6:30 p.m. contest. Stout will be looking for it's fourth consecutive dual win.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS
  • UW-Stout is currently ranked 11th in the NCGA, averaging 183.231 points. The Blue Devils have scored as high as 186.575 in a win over UW-Eau Claire.  time out, the Blue Devils scored a 185.275 in a six point win over Gustavus Adolphus College. The Blue Devils have won three consecutive dual matches.
  • The Blue Devils' all-arounders have been putting up big scores and Brooke Terry and Sierra Beaver are ranked in the top 10. Terry is averaging 36.983 and is ranked fifth among NCGA all-arounders. Terry, who performed her first collegiate all-around on Jan. 12, has raised her score each of the last three meets, recording a collegiate-best 37.825, a mark that is sixth on the WIAC Honor Roll. Beaver, who sat out last week's meet, is ranked seventh at 36.817.  Beaver posted a season-best 37.425 in a meet two weeks ago with UW-Oshkosh. Mikala Bugge, who is doing all-around for the first time this season, is ranked 11th nationally with a 36.558. Her collegiate-best is a 37.100, a mark she reached against UW-Eau Claire. Bugge did not compete in the all-around in the Blue Devils' last meet against Gustavus Adolphus.
  • In the latest national rankings posted on the Road to Nationals site, Beaver is ranked ninth on the uneven bars (9.425), Terry is ranked 19th on the balance beam (9.369) and Bugge is ranked 20th on the vault (9.389).
  • Youth will be served this year. With no seniors and only three juniors, the Blue Devils will be leaning heavily on youth this season. But the seven-member sophomore class is a battle-tested group, as are the three juniors who have been part of two nationally qualifying teams. Those two qualifying teams included last year's fifth place NCGA Championship finish, which was held in Menomonie. The fifth place was Stout's best finish at the NCGA since 1984, but the team was less than a half-point out of third place. Sophomore Mikala Bugge earned All-American honors with a 12th place finish on the vault. MacKenzie Nicholson qualified individually to the NCGA Championship in the uneven bars. Earlier in the season, Nicholson set the school record on the bars with a 9.775.
