University of Alaska-Anchorage 188.20, UW-Stout 184.425
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (January 20, 2017) - With all-arounder
Kaylee Jondahl placing in the top three in three events - including a first place finish on the vault - UW-Stout held their own against NCAA Division I University of Alaska-Anchorage Friday.
Jondahl topped the field in the vault with a score of 9.700, then finished third on the uneven bars (9.225), and third on the floor exercise (9.625). Jondahl finished seventh on the balance beam (9.150) and totaled 37.700 in the all-around to take first in that category.
Sierra Beaver was second in the all-around (37.325), garnering three top five individual finishes. Beaver was fifth on the uneven bars (9.050), fourth on the balance beam (9.500) and fifth on the floor exercise (9.425). Beaver was ninth on the vault (9.350).
Belle Ihde captured a pair of fifth place finishes, scoring 9.475 on the vault and 9.050 on the uneven bars.
The Seawolves topped the Blue Devils, 188.20-184.425. Stout did increase their team score from the season-opener when they scored 184.300.
The teams will meet again Monday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. (10 pm CT).
