UW-Whitewater (14-8, 5-6 WIAC), Saturday, Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. The Blue Devils are coming off a 65-61 loss to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday, while the Warhawks broke the century mark with a 104-86 win at UW-Platteville.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS: John Keefe is the Blue Devils' leading scorer, averaging 13.0 points per game, ranking 11th in the WIAC. Thirteen times this season, Keefe has scored in double digits and has been the team's scoring leader in 12 games. When Keefe isn't scoring, he is dishing and his 3.8 assists per contest leads the WIAC. The sophomore from Medford is second in the league in steals with 1.9 per outing.
Jalen Patterson is averaging 8.9 points per game and
Isaac Elliott is averaging 6.9 points. Patterson ranks eighth in the WIAC in steals (1.05). The Blue Devils are outrebounding their opponents, 35.5-33.8.
John Lahti is averaging a team-best 4.9 rebounds, ranking 11th in the WIAC and is scoring 6.1 points. Stout is being outscored, 71.3-.64.0. The Blue Devils have exceeded their wins total from last season. The Blue Devils last conference win came on Feb. 8, 2014, a 57-52 home win over UW-Oshkosh. |
2015-16 StatisticsA QUICK 2014-15 REVIEW: UW-Stout returns eight of its top-10 scorers from last year, including junior guard
Brett Ahsenmacher who was second on the team with 8.9 points per contest. The roster includes two seniors, four juniors, seven sophomores and seven freshmen. Due to injuries last season, the Blue Devils had only three players that participated in all 25 games, and utilized 12 different starting lineups. UW-Stout will play just four of its first 10 games at Johnson Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils will look to shake off a 3-22 season. Forward

2015-16 StatisticsBLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Devils cut the Pointer lead to four points after
John Keefe hit an NBA-length 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in the game. A pair of Stevens Point free throws increased the lead to six, and a
Jalen Patterson two point putback brought Stout back to four, but the Blue Devils ran out of time, falling 65-61 to Point. Keefe ended up with 20 points and four rebounds, and Patterson scored 12 and grabbed five rebounds for Stout.| Heartbreak for the Blue Devils came in the form of an Oshkosh basket that came with about 20 seconds remaining, giving the Titans their only lead of the game and Oshkosh went on for a 66-65 win Feb. 6. Stout held a decided 39-24 halftime lead, but the Titans slowly chipped away in the second half.
Jalen Patterson had 16 points for the Blue Devils, along with seven rebounds, three blocked shots, four steals and three assists.

SCOUTING UW-WHITEWATER: After starting the conference season off with two straight wins, including a conference-opening 75-59 win over Stout, the Warhawks have won only three of their last nine games. The Warhawks lead the league in scoring at 77.7 points per outing. Trinson White is second in the WIAC in scoring at 17.4 points per game and tops the league in rebounds at 9.1 points. Cole Van Schyndel is best in the league with a shooting percentage of .629. |2015-16 StatisticsWARHAWKS LAST TIME OUT: The Warhawks reached the century mark for the second time this season with a 104-86 win at UW-Platteville Wednesday.  Trinson White led the Warhawks with a team-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds, senior Haki Stampley tallied 23 points including four 3-pointers, while grabbing five rebounds. Junior Cole Van Schyndel  posted 16 points, while corralling a team-high eight rebounds. | Whitewater was unable to find its offensive rhythm in the first half Saturday night during a 74-68 home setback against UW-La Crosse.The Warhawks had three players score in double digits. Junior guard Haki Stampley led the way with 20 points while also finishing with three rebounds, one steal and one block. Senior forward White dropped in 19 points, dished out four assists and grabbed nine rebounds. Freshman guard Andre Brown scored 10 points and tied White for the team lead with nine rebounds. . | Platteville Game Story and Statistics | La Crosse Game Story and StatisticsLAST TIME STOUT AND WHITEWATER MET: The Blue Devils played well against then the No. 15 Warhawks in the first half, but failed to keep the pressure on in the second, falling 75-59. John Keefe was the only Blue Devil in double figures, scoring 11 points. Much like their last match up with Whitewater last season, the Blue Devils brought the first half fire, keeping the game close in the first half, behind tenacity and hustle on both ends of the floor. The first half ended with Stout trailing by four points at half, 31-27. |Story andStatisticsSCOUTING UW-STEVENS POINT: The Pointers last season won the NCAA Division III championship, but this season are fighting simply to earn the right to host a WIAC playoff game later this month. The Pointers have lost the last two games, falling to UW-Whitewater and UW-River Falls, both home games. Sean McGann and Stephen Pelkofer, who scored a career-high 30 points last time out, are the team's scoring leaders. McGann is averaging 14.7 points and Pelkofer 14.0. The duo also average 8.5 rebounds between the two of them, with McGann pulling down 4.5 and Pelkofer 4.0. Ethan Bublitz, who is averaging 9.3 points, is collecting 4.1 rebounds. Pelkofer is third in the league in assists with 3.24 per contest and Bublitz is third in the league in steals at 1.62. The Pointers rank eighth in the WIAC in scoring with 61.3 points, but are tops defensively, allowing a league-best 61.7 points. |2015-16 StatisticsPOINTERS LAST TIME OUT: A career-high 30 points from Stephen Pelkofer were not enough for the Pointers in an 81-79 overtime loss to UW-River Falls on Alumni Day at Quandt Fieldhouse Feb. 6.Pelkofer shot 11-for-24 from the field, including a jumper with 25 seconds left to send the game to overtime, but UW-Stevens Point shot just 2-for-10 from the floor in the extra session. UW-River Falls was 3-for-5 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free-throw line in overtime and had four players in double figures in the game.
|Game Story and StatisticsLAST TIME STOUT AND STEVENS POINT MET: Stevens Point shot a blistering 61 percent in the first half, racing out to an 18 point halftime lead and went on to hand UW-Stout a 68-51 loss Jan. 27 in Stevens Point. The Pointers got 10 points from Zack Goedeke in the first half as Goedezke led the charge by hitting 5-of-6 from the floor. VARSITY RESERVE: The Blue Devils have a number of varsity reserve games on their schedule. Stout defeated UW-Barron County, 92-74, Nov. 17. The Blue Devils will take on UW-Superior (Dec. 1, W 79-47), St. Mary's (Dec. 3, L,82-57; Jan. 28), and UW-Eau Claire (Jan. 13, Jan. 30).
THE COACHES: UW-Stout: Eddie Andrist (190-218 at Stout, 440-409 overall) is in his 16th year as the coach of the Blue Devils, and his 26th overall in the collegiate ranks. Andrist led the Blue Devils to their first NCAA Division III appearance five seasons ago when Stout advanced to the second round. Andrist coached at Mount Senario for 11 seasons and won three national championships. Andrist spent two stints coaching international basketball, working with the country of Qatar.
UW-Stevens Point:
Bob Semling (253-64) enters his 11th season at UW-Stevens Point and has won four national championships with the Pointers.In 10seasons at UW-Stevens Point,Semling has led the Pointers to two NCAA Division III national championships (2010, 2015), in addition to being an assistant on the back-to-back national championship teams of 2004 and 2005.
UW-Whitewater: Pat Miller (329-95) is in his15th season at UW-Whitewater. Coming into the season with a winning percentage of .784 (315-87), Miller ranks tied for 11th all-time, among all NCAA divisions, in winning percentage among coaches with a minimum of 10 seasons coaching at the NCAA level. He passed Ohio State's Thad Matta and North Carolina's Dean Smith following the 2013-14 campaign, and just tied Division I legend Jerry Tarkanian.
CONFERENCES: Stout is a member of the eight team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-Whitewater and UW-River Falls. UW-Superior left the conference after the 2014-15 season.
