THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION: UW-Stout travels to take on UW-Oshkosh this Friday, February 19 at 6:30. The Titans have gradually increased their team score as the season progressed. Most recently, Oshkosh scored a 187.200 at UW-Whitewater. Krystal Walker has stood out this year for the Titans. She is currently ranked fourth on the WIAC honor role in the all-around and has scored highest on the beam with a 9.650. Dana LoCascio is another strong contender, and currently the leader in the WIAC for beam with a 9.775. The Titans strength lies in the depth of the team. Overall the team is strongest in the beam and vault.
A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS: So far this season the Blue Devils have had the biggest success on the vault exercise. They have broken the team record with a 48.000, and
Kaylee Jondahl has broken the individual school record with a 9.800. Jondahl participates in all four events and has been the leader of the Blue Devils this season. Captain,
Kelly Huseman has really stood out this year, and continues to serve as the anchor of the team on three events. Captain
Callie Counts started the season strong on the balance beam after scoring her career high with a 9.625.
Sara Perez has been a contender on the uneven bars and has contributed to the vault lineup.
Randi Schorzman has seen competition on three events, but is known for her precision on the beam. We have seen significant improvements from
Cassie Evans over the course of the year. Steph Shields and Gina Guainrieri have returned to competition, and should contribute to the bar and floor lineup.
WIAC HONOR ROLL: (Updated Jan. 20, 2016)
Kaylee Jondahl is currently ranked first on the WIAC Honor Roll on the vault (9.800), 5th on the floor exercise (9.700) and 8th in the league in the all-around (37.625).
Callie Counts is 13th in the balance beam(9.625).
Kenzie Hyde is ranked 13th on the vault (9.575), 16th on the uneven bars (9.400), and 7th in the all-around (37.675).
Kelly Huseman is 11th on the vault (9.600).
Cassie Evans is 13th on the vault (9.575) 15th in the all-around (34.000).Â
LAST TIME OUT: On February 12, 2016 UW-Stout hosted their last home meet of the season, and honored the three senior Blue Devil gymnasts. Stout ultimately fell to UW-Eau Claire 182.650-180.400. Kaylee Jondahl was the leader of the competition on vault after scoring 9.525 and placing first. Kelly Huseman came in a second on this event with a 9.475. Randi Schorzman also performed a well executed vault posting a 9.325. Beam was rocky for both teams, but Huseman came out on top after scoring a 9.525. Schorzman took third place on the beam with a 8.875. We saw Stephanie Sheilds return to competition and achieve a personal best on bars (8.950) and take fourth place on beam (8.850). Jondahl also took the floor title after posting a score of 9.625. The next highest floor score was a 9.050, which was earned by Cassie Evans.

LAST YEAR'S BLUE DEVILS: UW-Stout began the 2015 season as an underdog, yet significantly flourished to emerge as a NCGA Championship qualifying team. Over the course of the year they earned a team high score of 188.325. The Blue Devils broke the school record as a team on vault (47.800), beam (46.975), and the individual vault score (9.725) set by
Kaylee Jondahl.
Kenzie Hyde and Jondahl earned All-American honors for their performance at Nationals.

THE BLUE DEVIL COACH: UW-Stout: Becky Beaulieu is in her 11th season as the Blue Devil coach. Under Beaulieu's direction, UW-Stout gymnasts have earned 32 All-American awards and Beaulieu has coached national champions on the balance beam in 2008, the floor exercise in 2009, the uneven bars in 2010, the vault and floor exercise in 2011, and the floor in 2015. A UW-Stout gymnast has qualified and competed at the NCAA Division I regionals in 2009 at the University of Iowa and in 2010 at the University of Utah. Beaulieu, competing as Becky McDonnell at UW-La Crosse from 1997-2001, captured back-to-back NCGA floor exercise titles in 1998 and 1999. She established a since-eclipsed school floor exercise record score of 9.8. A seven-time NCGA All-American, she also garnered all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors nine times. The Eagles, for which she was a two-year captain, won two NCGA titles during her competing days. In 2012, Beaulieau was selected to the WIAC All-Time Gymnastics Team as the conference celebrated their 100th anniversary.
WIAC AND NCGA: The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is made up of eight schools - UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stout, UW-Whitewater, Hamline University, Gustavus Adolphus College and Winona State University. These eight schools make up the NCGA West Region and are also members of the 14-school National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA). The other six schools are: SUNY-Brockport, SUNY-Cortland, Ithaca (NY) College, Springfield (Mass) College, Rhode Island College, and Ursinus (Pa) College.
