University of Wisconsin-Stout 180.400, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 182.650The Blue Devils take a loss at their final home meet against UW-Eau Claire. The Bluegolds came out on top with a 182.650, while Stout posted a 180.400.
We saw the Blue Devils start strong on vault and even make some significant improvements on the bars.
Kaylee Jondahl took the top spot in the vault with a 9.525, followed by
Kelly Huseman in second place with a 9.475. Senior
Randi Schorzman was not far behind with a score of 9.325.
Stout counted six hit routines on bars, which was a big accomplishment for the Blue Devils this year. Jondahl led the Blue Devils on this event and placed third with a 9.275.
Stout was ahead of the competition going into the third event. Unfortunately, it was a struggle for both teams to stay on top of the beam in the second half. Huseman managed to grab a first place finish with a 9.525 after her strong performance on the beam.
Jondahl once again took charge on the floor exercise with a stellar routine. She earned the highest score of the meet, with a 9.625.
Cassie Evans was the only other Blue Devil that broke into the nines on this event after she earned a 9.050. Ultimately, Stout could not catch up to the Bluegolds and was faced with another defeat this season.
UW-Stout takes on UW-Oshkosh for their next competition. The meet will take place on Friday, February 19 at 6:30pm in Oshkosh.
