THIS WEEK'S COMPETITION: The Blue Devils host their last home meet of the season against University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Blugolds defeated Stout as they faced off at Whitewater previously this year. Early this season the Blugolds emerged with energy and posted a high team score of 188.925. Since then their team score has declined, most recently scoring a 183.750 at the Gershon Invitational. Clare Mascia took the top score for Eau Claire at the last meet with a 9.625 on the balance beam. Senior Julia Stedman led the Blugolds with some strong performance this season. She is currently ranked third on the floor in the WIAC honor roll after posting a 9.725.
A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS: We will be honoring our three senior gymnasts at this weeks home duel against UW-Eau Claire. Captain
Callie Counts has consistently competed on three events throughout her four years as a blue devil. She has reached a peak her senior year, especially on the balance beam.
Sara Perez has been a strong contender on the uneven bars and has contributed to the vault lineup.
Randi Schorzman has seen competition on three events, but is known for her precision on the beam. All three gymnasts have seen competition at the NCGA National championships. The women have shown excellent commitment and dedication during their time as student-athletes.
Kaylee Jondahl is ready to step back on the floor after her phenomenal performance at last weeks competition. She is currently sitting at the top of the WIAC honor roll on vault after posting her career high score of 9.800.
Kelly Huseman has been on a hot streak the past couple of weeks, and has even taken home some first place finishes on several different events. Huseman's impeccable form shines on the vault, bars and beam for the Blue Devils. There is possibility of seeing Steph Shields and
Gina Guarnieri return from injuries with in the next couple of weeks. The two players definitely have the potential to spike up the floor and bars score for the Blue Devils.
WIAC HONOR ROLL: (Updated Jan. 20, 2016)
Kaylee Jondahl is currently ranked first on the WIAC Honor Roll on the vault (9.800), 5th on the floor exercise (9.700) and 5th in the league in the all-around (37.225).
Callie Counts is 11th in the balance beam(9.625), and 20th on vault (9.500).
Kenzie Hyde is ranked 13th on the vault (9.575), 16th on the uneven bars (9.400), and fourth in the all-around (37.675).
Kelly Huseman is 9th on the vault (9.600) and 19th on beam (9.550).

LAST TIME OUT: On February 5, 2016 UW-Stout made their way to St. Paul to take on the Hamline Pipers. The Blue Devils ultimately took a loss to the Pipers 185.775-182.975. Despite the outcome, Stout had a record breaking night on the vault exercise. The team broke the school event record after counting five scores above a 9.500 and calculating a total of 48.000.
Kaylee Jondahl also made a statement with her stuck tsuk full vault. She posted a score of 9.800 which broke the previous record held by Jondahl from 2015. Jondahl also placed first in the bars (9.275), second in the floor (9.625) and first in the all-around (37.625).
Kelly Huseman had another exceptional meet on three events. Huseman took the title on the beam (9.550), tied with Jondahl on the bars (9.275), and took a second place finish on vault (9.600).
Cassie Evans tied for third place after posting a 9.575 on vault.
Randi Schorzman did well on the beam taking a third place finish with a score of 9.375.
Kate Voracek improved her beam score by over point and placed 5th in the meet with a 9.250.

LAST YEAR'S BLUE DEVILS: UW-Stout began the 2015 season as an underdog, yet significantly flourished to emerge as a NCGA Championship qualifying team. Over the course of the year they earned a team high score of 188.325. The Blue Devils broke the school record as a team on vault (47.800), beam (46.975), and the individual vault score (9.725) set by
Kaylee Jondahl.
Kenzie Hyde and Jondahl earned All-American honors for their performance at Nationals.

THE BLUE DEVIL COACH: UW-Stout: Becky Beaulieu is in her 11th season as the Blue Devil coach. Under Beaulieu's direction, UW-Stout gymnasts have earned 32 All-American awards and Beaulieu has coached national champions on the balance beam in 2008, the floor exercise in 2009, the uneven bars in 2010, the vault and floor exercise in 2011, and the floor in 2015. A UW-Stout gymnast has qualified and competed at the NCAA Division I regionals in 2009 at the University of Iowa and in 2010 at the University of Utah. Beaulieu, competing as Becky McDonnell at UW-La Crosse from 1997-2001, captured back-to-back NCGA floor exercise titles in 1998 and 1999. She established a since-eclipsed school floor exercise record score of 9.8. A seven-time NCGA All-American, she also garnered all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors nine times. The Eagles, for which she was a two-year captain, won two NCGA titles during her competing days. In 2012, Beaulieu was selected to the WIAC All-Time Gymnastics Team as the conference celebrated their 100th anniversary.
WIAC AND NCGA: The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is made up of eight schools - UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stout, UW-Whitewater, Hamline University, Gustavus Adolphus College and Winona State University. These eight schools make up the NCGA West Region and are also members of the 14-school National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA). The other six schools are: SUNY-Brockport, SUNY-Cortland, Ithaca (NY) College, Springfield (Mass) College, Rhode Island College, and Ursinus (Pa) College.
