John Lahti is also nearly doubling his scoring average from last year, and is this year averaging 11.7 points. Lahti is currently fourth in the WIAC in blocked shots, averaging one per game. BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: UW-Stout had a field day with five players scoring in double figures as the Blue Devils routed former WIAC foe UW-Suoerior, 95-60, Tuesday at Dewey Mintz Court in Johnson Fieldhouse.  With the exception of the first few minutes of play, the Blue Devils (3-1) never trailed as John Keefe led Stout with a career-best 32 points. Keefe hit 13-of-23 shots from the floor and 4-of-8 from 3-point range. The junior guard made both free throws, dished off a pair of assists and had five steals.

DEAD-EYED ISAAC: Isaac Elliott lit up the scoreboard this past weekend at the UW-Stout Tip-Off Classic, scoring 17 points against 22nd ranked Hope College Nov. 18, then taking it a step further the next afternoon, dropping in 17 points by halftime. Elliott finished the game with 19 points. Over the two games, the junior guard drained 13-of-20 from the floor (.650), 9-of-12 from beyond the arc (.750) and made 1-of-2 free throws.

TRIPLE IN THE FUTURE?: Junior guard John Keefe flirted with a triple-double throughout the weekend tournament. SCOUTING UW-SUPERIOR: The Yellowjackets are 1-2 on the season, grabbing their only win against Hamline Univeristy in a close 86-82 game. Overall, Superior is led by Rafael Monteiro, a 6-5, 210, native of Sau Paulo, Brazil. He leads the team in scoring and rebounding. Monterio has scored exactly 21 points in every game this season and is averaging just over seven rebounds a game. The team has been shooting the ball well, just a hair under 48 percent as a team, but on defense they have lacked. They have given up almost 89 points per game and have allowed opponents to shoot 52 percent from the field on the season.

YELLOWJACKETS LAST TIME OUT: In their last contest, Superior dropped a 95-74 decision to UW-Eau Claire at home. Eau Claire opened the game strong, going on an 18-6 run early and held this type of lead for the rest of the contest. The Yellowjackets were led by Monterio, while the Blugolds were led by George Dickelman who was 7-for-15 for 19 points with eight assists and four steals.

LAST TIME STOUT AND SUPERIOR MET: UW-Superior went on a 10-0 run late in the first half to take an eight point lead and UW-Stout could never catch up as the Yellowjackets went on to a 79-71 win Dec. 1, 2015, at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium. The Blue Devils  took a 28-26 lead with 5:39 remaining in the first half when the Yellowjackets (1-3) scored 10 straight points, keyed by Zach Schradle's seven points in the run. Schradle would be a stinger in the Blue Devils' side all night, going on to score a game-high 33 points, never leaving the floor.

SCOUTING BUENA VISTA: The Beavers have two wins on their schedule so far this season, first against Gustavus Adolphus in an 81-60 victory and then against Augsburg in a much tighter, 67-65 win. Buena Vista is led by Kennedy Drey, who is putting in another great season. The 6-6, 210 senior is averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds a contest, leading the IIAC in rebounding.

THE BEAVERS LAST TIME OUT: Buena Vista played Division II Omaha-Nebraska in an exhibition game, Tuesday, Nov. 22, losing 112-65. Three starters scored in double figures for Buena Vista, and the Beavers overcame a tough first half shooting performance to put together a late second half surge to lift them to a thrilling 67-65 non-conference home victory over Augsburg College on Saturday night. Senior Sean Morgan turned in a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds while adding three more blocks, as fellow senior Kennedy Drey posted 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Junior David Jeffries added 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

LAST TIME STOUT AND BUENA VISTA MET: Buena Vista University found their range from downtown and their downtown was back in Storm Lake, Iowa, as the visiting Beavers hit 14 3-point shots to down UW-Stout, 96-80, Dec. 5, 2015, at Johnson Fieldhouse. Buena Vista connected on 4-of-14 (.286) long range shots in the first half, but warmed up and hit 10-of-14 (.714) in the second half. on Dec. 5, 2015.
