MENOMONIE (January 9, 2015) - In her first collegiate meet, freshman
Kenzie Hyde (Sunderland, Ontario) captured a first place finish on the uneven bars and a second place finish in the all-around as UW-Stout opened the 2015 season with a 183.275-177.850 loss to three-time defending champion UW-Whitewater Friday at Johnson Fieldhouse.
Hyde scored a 9.425 to take the uneven bars. She tallied 36.625 points to finish second in the all-around. She was eighth on the vault (9.375), eighth on the balance beam (8.925) and fifth on the floor exercise (8.90).
Kaylee Jondahl (So, Anoka, Minn) finished third in the all-around with a 35.800. She was third on the vault (9.45), sixth on the bars (8.75), ninth on the beam (8.80) and sixth on the floor (8.80).
Sara Perez (Jr, Tigard, Ore) was fourth on the bars (9.175) and
Tara Zimmerman (Sr, Forest Lake, Minn) was fourth on the floor (9.175).
UW-Whitewater's Katie Fiorilli took three first place finishes – all-around (37.750), floor exercise (9.50), balance beam (9.550). Whitewater's Cici Talcott was first on the vault (9.550). Courtney Pickett had two second place finishes, on the floor (9.425) and vault (9.525).
Stout will be at the University of Arizona, Friday, Jan. 16 where they will face three Division I opponents - the host Wildcats, Sacramento State and Illinois-Chicago.
