THIS WEEK'S GAMES: The Blue Devils (3-12, 0-6 WIAC) will conclude a two-game homestand by hosting UW-Superior (7-9, 1-6 WIAC), Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. Stout lost to UW-Oshkosh, 66-60, in overtime Wednesday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS : Jarvis Ragland continues to lead not only the Blue Devils in scoring, but the entire WIAC with a 20.5 points per game mark. Ragland is shooting at a 51.7 percent mark (92-178). Ragland has scored in double figures in every game he has played this season, with a career-high of 25 points, and a season-low of 13 points. Ragland has been the team's leading scorer in 11 games this season, and has been the team's leading rebounder seven times. The team's lone senior is the leader off the glass, pulling down 6.6 boards, ranking third in the WIAC. Ragland has had the team's only double-doubles of the season, tossing in 25 points and pulling down 15 rebounds against Bethany Lutheran, 18 points and 10 rebounds against UW-Whitewater and 21 points and 11 rebounds against UW-Oshkosh. All of Ragland's double-doubles have come this year.
Brett Ahsenmacher scored a career-best 22 points against John Carroll University at the St. Norbert Tournament and is currently averaging 10.7 points. Ahsenmacher has scored in double-digits dight times this season, compared to three times all of last year. Freshman
John Keefe, who had a 30 point outburst in early December, is averaging 6.4 points and is second on the the team in assists with 24.
Hank Kujak leads the team in assists with 26. Kujak recently set a career-best in points scored, tallying 17 against UW-Whitewater, but went down with an injury early in the UW-Oshkosh game.
Reggie Kujak had been roaming the paint and will finish the season with a 4.7 rebounds per game average.

Sam Ortmann, Ahsenmacher and Ragland have each dished off 20 assists. Ortmann,
John Lahti and
Isaac Elliott are the only Blue Devils to have played in all 14 games this season. Stout is being outscored, 77.5-67.7.Â
STOUT'S LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Devils were tied at regulation, 49-49, with UW-Oshkosh, but the Titans went on a tear to open the overtime period, going off on an 11-2 run to open the extra time. The Titans' Alex Olson scored 10 of his 21 points in the overtime period, dropping in 5-of-6 free throws.
Jarvis Ragland matched Olson for scoring honors, scoring 21 points. Ragland also pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Brett Ahsenmacher added 15 points for the Blue Devils. Max Schebel tossed in 18 points and Kyle Bolger added 13.
SCOUTING UW-SUPERIOR: Four Yellowjackets are averaging in double digits, with Johnquez Brooks and Ty Ketz scoring 14.8 and 14.6 points respectively. Ketz and Brooks are ranked sixth and eighth in scoring in the WIAC. Brian Lindblom is averaging 13.6 points and Zach Schradle 10.8. Ketz and Brooks have repeatedly scored more than 20 points in a game, and Lindblom tallied 29 points for a team season-high. Schradle is pulling down 6.3 rebounds. Brooks is third in the league in assists, averaging 3.63 per game. The Yellowjackets are being outscored, 75.4-63.9.
THE YELLOWJACKETS LAST TIME OUT: It was a tale of two halves, but the Yellowjackets still could not muster up enough points to pull off a rally and fell to UW-Platteville, 92-77, in Superior. The Pioneers were hot and Superior was not in the first half as Platteville a 29-point, 52-23, lead at intermission. The Yellowjackets turned things around in the second half, outscoring Platteville, 54-40, after the break. Johnquez Brooks led Superior with 21 points. Tyler Ketz finished with 15 points and Zach Schradle and Brian Lindblom each added 14 points. Schradle added 10 boards. The Pioneers had four players in double digits, led by Jake Manning's 31 points.
LAST YEAR WHEN STOUT AND SUPERIOR MET: Stout carried the day in the conference opener at Superior with a 79-68 win, but the Yellowjackets handed Stout a 70-59 in the Blue Devils' final home game of the season. In the opener, Stout was led by senior
Aaron Jenny's career-best 24 points and
Jimmy Whitehead added 23. Except for a small period early, Stout led throughout the game. It was a different story at Johnson Fieldhouse as Stout shot 25 percent from the field in the second half and the Yellowjackets shot 50 percent for the win.
SCOUTING UW-OSHKOSH: The Titans had a three-game winning streak snapped with an 83-57 home loss to UW-Stevens Point. The Titans have two players averaging in double digits, with Alex Olson leading the way with a 14.4 points per game average. AJ Mueler has been averaging 10.4 points and is the team's top rebounder at 4.8 caroms per contest. Sean Dwyer is fourth in the WIAC in 3-pointers made at 2.21 per contest. The Titans are coming off their best finish (fifth) since the 2009 season and were projected to finish fifth again this season. At the moment, the Titans are tied for fifth in the WIAC.
THE TITANS LAST TIME OUT: The Titans lost an 83-57 decision to UW-Stevens Point. The 19th ranked Pointers led from wire-to-wire in this contest. Alex Olson led UW-Oshkosh with 12 points and four steals. AJ Mueller added 11 points for the Titans, who shot 43.2 percent (19-44) from the floor, including 54.5 percent (12-22) in the second half.
LAST YEAR WHEN STOUT AND OSHKOSH MET: Each team won on their own floor last season, with the Titans taking the opener, 63-59, and the Blue Devils taking their last meeting, 57-52. In the first game, Stout kept finding ways to get back into the game, including coming back from a 32-21 halftime deficit. The Titans were 28-of-31 from the free throw line. Alex Oman and
Jay Higgins came up big on Senior Night, with Oman dropping 18 points and Higgins 13.
CLIMBING THE LADDER: Jarvis Ragland has been climbing the UW-Stout career scoring list throughout the season. He currently has 779 career points, good for 46th on the all-time list, passing Jann Peterson (155-58, 706 points), Russell Pollack (1947-51, 708 pts), Brian Howard (1955-59, 737 pts), Terry Farmer (2003-06, 726 pts) and Jeremy Preston (1997-99, 767 pts). Currently 45th on the all-time list is Doug Eha (1970-73, 788 pts). Eha was the WSUC player of the year for the 1972-73 season.

THE COACHES: UW-Stout: Eddie Andrist (186-189 at Stout, 436-379 overall) is in his 15th year as the coach of the Blue Devils, and his 26th overall in the collegiate ranks. Andrist led the Blue Devils to their first NCAA Division III appearance five seasons ago when Stout advanced to the second round. Andrist coached at Mount Senario for 11 seasons and won three national championships. Andrist spent two stints coaching international basketball, working with the country of Qatar.
UW-Oshkosh: Pat Juckem (132-117 overall; 27-38 at Oshkosh) is in his third season at UW-Oshkosh and his 10th season overall.From 2006-12, Juckem was the head coach at Coe College (Iowa). He led the Kohawks to an overall record of 105-79 (.571 winning percentage). Coe College won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) championship during both the 2006 and 2012 seasons.
UW-Superior: Paul Eberhardt (23-44) is in his third season at UW-Superior.
Eberhardt came to UW-Superior from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. At ECC Eberhardt served as athletics director and dean of students. Eberhardt has been an assistant coach at Winona State and at UW-River falls
CONFERENCES: Stout is a member of the nine team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Superior, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-Whitewater and UW-River Falls. Superior will leave the conference after the 2014-15 season.
