Katherine Prouty adds three more All-America awards to trophy case

NCGA Championship | Second Day results

ITHACA, NY (March 22, 2014) - Katherine Prouty (Jr, Tigard, Ore) picked up her second, third and fourth All-America awards of the weekend, earning first team honors on the vault, the uneven bars and the balance beam Saturday at the NCGA Individual Championship at Ithaca College.

Prouty placed or tied for fourth place in all three events, setting personal best marks on all three events. Prouty had earned her first All-America award of the year the night before when she placed second in the all-around competition.

Prouty tied the school record on the vault with a mark of 9.70, matching the 2011 record set by Naomi De Lara. Prouty set a personal best on the uneven bars with a score of 9.675. Her previous best uneven score had been 9.650. Prouty bested her balance beam score by tallying a 9.650.

The top six finishers earn NCGA All-America awards. The seventh through 12th place finishers earn second team All-America.

Prouty had earned All-America honors as a freshman in the vault and all-around, but came up short last year. Prouty now has six All-America awards.
