MENOMONIE (February 7, 2014) - Stout took the top five finishes in the balance beam, including four personal best, as well as a team event record on their way to a victory in the John Zuerlein Invitational. The 183.550 points scored by UW-Stout was their highest output of the season.
Kelly Huseman (Fr, Tampa, Fla) led the way on the balance beam with a personal best score of 9.450.
Kaitlynn Christensen (Sr, Ottawa, Ill) finished second on the beam at 9.425.
Natasha Hansen (So, Bloomington, Minn) finished third with a score of 9.350. All three were new personal best. Stout nearly swept the balance beam event as
Randi Schorzman (So, Buckley, Wash),
Katherine Prouty (Jr, Tigard, Ore) and
Callie Counts (So, Greenback, Tenn) finished tied for third, fifth and seventh respectively. Counts score of 9.250 was also a personal best. The Blue Devils overall beam score of 46.875 is a new team event record.
Huseman also added a personal best in the Vault with a score of 9.300.
The Blue Devils added three top five finishes in the Floor event. They were led by Kaylee Johndahl (Fr, Anoka, Minn) who finished second with a personal best of 9.575.
Katherine Prouty finished third with a 9.425 and
Kaitlynn Christensen finished fourth with a score of 9.4.
UW-Eau Claire's Elizabeth Stubbs earned first place in the floor event with a score of 9.600. Leah Robinette of Eau Claire finished in the top spot on the parallel bars, with a score of 9.350.
Stout returns to action next Friday, February 14th, when they host Gustavus Adolphus.
