WHITEWATER (February 1, 2013) - A slow first half offensively and 21 total turnovers doomed the Blue Devils as they dropped a 70-59 conference match-up against UW-Whitewater.

Whitewater looked to be in control early on, running out to a 6-0 lead before Brett Ahsenmacher got Stout on the board with a free throw, followed by a three pointer after a Whitewater basket. The Warhawks would push the lead to 11-4 before Josh Kosloske(Sr, Oakfield) got the Blue Devils rolling with a three pointer.

After a block by Alex Oman (Sr, Lake Elmo, Minn.) on the defensive end, Aaron Jenny (Sr, Spicer, Minn.) nailed a pair of free throws before completing a three point play the next time down to give Stout a 12-11 lead. A jumper by Jenny on Stout's next possesion gave the Blue Devils a 14-11 advantage with 11:20 remaining in the half.

Jenny led all scorers with 22 points on 8-13 shooting, including 1-2 from three-point range. He also cashed in from the charity stripe, hitting 5-6 free throws.

The Warhawks quickly recaptured the lead, going on a 21-5 run over the next eight minutes, pushing the lead to double digits, 32-19. The teams would trade baskets down the stretch and Whitewater would head into the break with a 41-24 lead.

Turnovers played a big role in the first half, as the Blue Devils turned the ball over 13 times, leading to 15 points for the Warhawks.

Whitewater continued to control things early on in the second, keeping their lead in double digits until the eight minute mark, when Oman hit a jumper to cut the lead to 54-45. A pair of free throws by Jenny followed by a Whitewater basket and two free throws from Oman cut the gap to just seven, 56-49 with a little over five minutes to go in the game.

That would be as close as the Blue Devils would get though, as the Warhawks quickly pushed the lead back to double digits with a 5-0 scoring run. Stout would cut the deficit to 9 after an Oman three-point bomb at 2:18, but no closer.

Oman finished with 9 points and 5 boards for the Blue Devils. Jay Higgins (Sr, Maple Grove, Minn.) also grabbed 5 boards for Stout.
