Gymnasts continue to push their team score up for fourth straight meet

MENOMONIE (January 25, 2014) - For the fourth consecutive meet, the UW-Stout gymnastics team has improved on the previous meets scores. The Blue Devils tallied a 180.550 in finishing second to UW-La Crosse, which scored 185.075, in a dual meet Tuesday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

Katherine Prouty (Jr, Tigard, Ore) took a pair of first place finishes for the Blue Devils, capturing top honors o vault (9.575) and on the uneven bars (9.275).

Freshman Kaylee Jondahl (Fr, Anoka, Minn) captured the floor exercise for the second consecutive meet, tallying a collegiate-best 9.575. Jondahl also set a personal best in placing third on the vault (9.500).

Randi Schorzman (So, Buckley, Wash) was fiffh on the vault (9.30). Kaitlynn Christensen (Sr, Ottawa, Ill) finished fourth on the balance beam (9.25).  Kasondra Tulloch (Fr, Cottage Grove, Minn) set a personal best on the floor exercise (8.55).

The Blue Devils broke 180 points as a team for the first time this season. Stout has gone from 176.925 in their opening meet to 178.575 in the second meet and 179.600 in their third meet.

Stout will be at Hamline University, Friday, Jan. 31 for their third meet over seven days.
