UW-Platteville 75, UW-Stout 64, ot
PLATTEVILLE (February 12, 2011) - UW-Stout rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to take as much as a 12 point second half lead, only to see UW-Platteville come back and take a 75-64 overtime win Saturday at Bo Ryan Court.
The Blue Devils (8-15, 3-12) led only briefly in the first half, and trailed by as much as 13 points before cutting the lead to six at halftime. Stout continued the momentum swing through the second half, quickly building up a 12 point, 57-45, lead with nine minutes remaining.
But the Pioneers (15-8, 8-6) went on a 17-5 run to close out regulation and send the game into overtime, where they outscored Stout, 13-2.
The Pioneers got 23 points from Chas Cross, 16 from Nick Allen, 13 from Eric Wall and 11 from Eric Gerber. Wall finished the game with 17 rebounds.
Steve Pax (Fr, Elmwood) led Stout with 17 points, followed by
Eric Hostetter (Sr, Stillwater, Minn) and
Erik Olson (So, Buffalo, Minn) with 16 apiece.
Stout will host Crown College, Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., in a non-conference tilt, then will close the season when they host UW-Eau Claire, Saturday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
