UW-Oshkosh 78, UW-Stout 63
OSHKOSH (January 15, 2011) - UW-Oshkosh took the lead seven minutes into the game and never relinquished it as the Titans defeated UW-Stout, 78-63 at Kolf Sports Center Saturday afternoon.
Stout held the lead through the first seven minutes of the game as four different Blue Devils contributed to a 10-8 lead. The Titans went on an 8-0 run and the closest the Blue Devils would get the rest of the way was three points a couple of times early in the second half.
Eric Hostetter (Sr, Stillwater, Minn) had a big day, hitting 25 points, Stout's only player to score in double figures. Hostetter finished the night hitting 8-13 from the floor, 4-6 from 3-point range and 5-6 from the line.
Erik Olson (So, Buffalo, Minn) finished with eight points.
Jerrod Buchholtz (Sr, Durand) was held to three points and that bucket came with 1:33 remaining.
The Titans had three players in double figures with TJ Kellner scoring 19 points, Greg Schrimpf 18 and John Flanigan 11. Oshkosh held a big lead in rebounds, pulling down 37 compared to Stout's 27.
Stout will be at UW-Oshkosh, Wednesday, Jan. 19, then will host UW-River Falls, Saturday, Jan. 22.
