MENOMONIE, Wis. (December 10, 2009) - Tony Mane of UW-La Crosse scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Eagles to a 78-64 victory over UW-Stout, Thursday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

UW-Stout's (3-5, 0-3) only lead came two minutes into the game, a 4-2 margin over the Eagles (7-2, 2-1).  La Crosse then went on a 10-2 run to take a six-point lead midway through the first period.  The lead was never less than three the rest of the half, and was stretched to 13 at halftime after a 5-0 La Crosse run before the buzzer.

Stout was able to cut their deficit to eight by the midway point of the second half, but the Eagles answered with a game-clinching 13-0 run, fueled by three 3-pointers, two of them delivered by Mane.

Eric Hostetter (Jr, Stillwater, Minn.) led the Blue Devils in scoring for the second straight game, as he accounted for 16 points and five rebounds.  Jerrel Enerson-Matthews (Sr, Anoka, Minn.) led all players with seven boards. Mahlon Thomas (Jr, Brooklyn Park, Minn) added 12 points and Jordan Nelson (So, Maple Grove, Minn) scored 10.

La Crosse held a 39-26 halftime lead, fueled by 16 Stout turnovers. The Blue Devils finished the game with 18 total turnovers and played the Eagles even in the second half, but couldn't break the deficit.

Stout plays at UW-Eau Claire this Saturday, Dec. 12, and is on the road until they return to host UW-Platteville on Jan. 9.
