COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo (September 5, 2008) - Maybe it will just take another day to get used to the higher altitude.
UW-Stout traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo, to participate in the Molten Volleyball Colorado College Invitational and came out of day one with two losses. The Blue Devils lost the opener to the University of Texas-Dallas, 25-18, 25-18, 25-7, then were clipped by host Colorado College, 25-12, 25-9, 25-19.
The Blue Devils (0-2) had trouble on the attack in both games, hitting at only a .095 clip in the first game, then hit the negatives, hitting minus-.046.
Maggie Meixl (Sr, Mankato, Minn) led Stout at the net in both games, scoring seven kills against undefeated Dallas (5-0) and six kills against Colorado College (4-1).
Stout will play George Fox University, Saturday, Sept. 6, then will settle into championship play later in the day.
