McCune, Barton Receive All-WIAC Honors

MADISON – UW-Stout's Brooke McCune and Emma Barton received All-WIAC honors, the league announced today.

Brooke McCune, a senior outside hitter from Osseo, Wis., was named First Team All-WIAC for the second consecutive season. McCune led the Blue Devils with 374 kills (4.02 K/S), a .273 hitting percentage, and 4.41 points per set. She also added 267 digs (2.87 D/S), 29 blocks, and 20 aces. Nationally, McCune ranks 32nd in kills per set, 33rd in total kills, 36th in points per set, and 43rd in total points—ranking third in the WIAC in each of those categories. She set a school record with 29 kills in a match against Macalester, recorded 20 or more kills four times, and notched 12 double-doubles during the season.

Emma Barton, a junior middle from Stevens Point, Wis., earned All-WIAC Honorable Mention recognition. Barton averaged 2.72 points per set, 1.92 kills per set, and totaled 76 blocks and 25 aces. She recorded a career-high 16 kills (.545 hitting percentage) and nine blocks in Stout's win over No. 8 UW-Whitewater. Barton posted double-digit kills five times, including a 14-kill (.444 hitting percentage) performance against UW-La Crosse.

Viv Heidt, a senior middle hitter from West Fargo, N.D., was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
