Hey Blue Devil fans!
My name is Grace Harycki, and I am a junior here at UW-Stout. I am majoring in Biology and minoring in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I am also completing my pre-medicine classes, and I will be applying to medical schools this spring.
We are in our third official week of softball, and we have been on a roll! Our team is coming together, and we are all learning what our roles are. We have been extremely focused as our fall games are coming up on October 10th. From practices to lifts and conditioning, we are preparing for a successful season. This last week, we also had our Blue vs. Pink World Series. This is a fun week where we split into two teams to compete in various activities. Team Blue on top!
Thank you for all of the support. We couldn't do this without our support squad. Now, I'll pass it off to Jadyn as she talks about the hard work we Blue Devils do in the classroom!
Hey Blue Devil softball fans!
My name is Jadyn Swinehart, and I am a sophomore this year. I am double majoring in Biology and Environmental Science with a Natural Resource Conservation concentration.
This week in the classroom, I learned about wildlife behavioral ecology, methods to identify soils, and basic genetics. I also had lots of lab experience dealing with compass orientation, soil identification, Microsoft Excel, and my personal favorite: finding and comparing antibiotic properties in essential oils by testing them on bacteria we cultured. My favorite thing about Stout is our polytechnic aspect. I learn so well through hands-on learning and get to apply what I learned in lectures for a deeper understanding that will set me up for success!
Thank you for taking the time to read about our endeavors, and we hope to see you next time on Devils in the Details!
ROLL DEVS!!
