Blue Devil Women's Basketball Named to WBCA Academic Top-25 Honor Roll

ATLANTA (July 22, 2025) – The University of Wisconsin-Stout women's basketball team dominated on the court and in the classroom, earning a spot on the 2024-25 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, announced today by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The 2024-25 Blue Devils' 16-player roster finished the school year with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.736, placing 19th in NCAA Division III.

2024-25 Team Members: Allison Letcher, Grace Schisel, Sam Schaeffer, Amanda Giesen, Elissa Lodermeier, Julia Rybacki, Raegan Sorensen, Molly Garber, Madison Malecha, Mary Berg, Rosella Wille, Anna Mutch, Molly Bills, Eleice Dahl, Lexi Wagner, Maraya Wiltrout.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that maintain the highest combined GPAs, inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season marks the 30th year the WBCA has compiled these honor rolls.

On the court, Stout had a historic season in 2024-25, advancing to the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Final Four. Stout went 23-8, 10-4, finishing second in the WIAC. They hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III tournament, defeating Ripon (87-57) and No. 6 Whitman (75-69) to advance to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year. Stout then topped rival Whitewater 62-56 to reach their first-ever Elite 8, defeating host No. 5 Scranton 81-77 before falling in the Final Four to No. 1 New York University 74-55.

Stout had four All-WIAC honorees, an All-WIAC defensive team member, two all-region selections, and an All-American. Raegan Sorensen earned numerous accolades: First-Team All-WIAC, D3hoops.com First-Team All-Region, D3hoops.com Second-Team All-American, and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American. She led the WIAC and ranked 20th in the nation, shooting 55.0 percent from the floor. Sorensen scored 30 or more points four times and finished her career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,754 points and 737 rebounds (fifth all-time). Anna Mutch was named All-WIAC and third-team D3hoops.com All-Region, finishing her career fifth all-time with 1,449 career points. Amanda Giesen earned First-Team All-WIAC honors and finished sixth with 1,330 career points. Sam Schaeffer was named to the All-WIAC Defensive Team and was sixth in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (2.48). Lexi Wagner received Honorable Mention All-WIAC, shooting 45.7 percent from 3-point range (fourth in the nation). She led the WIAC and ranked 17th in the nation in 3-pointers per game (2.88). Wagner set a school record and tied a WIAC single-game record with nine 3-point field goals (9-14) against UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 22.
