UW-Stout Football Promotes Kobe Berghammer to Quarterbacks Coach

MENOMONIE, Wis. – After a year coaching the tight ends, Kobe Berghammer is making the move to lead the UW-Stout quarterbacks. The Blue Devils have promoted Berghammer to quarterbacks coach for the 2025 season, recognizing both his coaching potential and his standout experience as a collegiate signal-caller.

Berghammer joined the Stout coaching staff in 2024 after a stellar playing career at UW-Oshkosh, where he was a four-year starting quarterback. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2019, leading the Titans to a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship by orchestrating an upset victory over UW-Whitewater in the final game of the season. Under his leadership, UWO never posted a losing record, as Berghammer compiled a 26-14 record at the helm of the offense.

A record-setting passer, Berghammer finished his career with a program-best 99 touchdown passes while throwing for 8,763 yards—the fourth-most in UW-Oshkosh history. He also made an impact with his legs, rushing for 30 career touchdowns, the fifth-most in program history. Among his many standout performances, Berghammer set single-game school records with eight touchdown passes against UW-Stevens Point and 43 completions in a game against UW-Stout.

Originally from Cumberland, Wis., where he starred at Cumberland High School, Berghammer now takes the next step in his coaching career by guiding the Blue Devils' quarterbacks. His experience as a high-level WIAC quarterback, coupled with a year of coaching experience at Stout, positions him well to develop the team's signal-callers and contribute to the Blue Devils' offensive success.
