Raegan Sorensen Named Second-Team All-American

MENOMONIE, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-Stout's standout guard, Raegan Sorensen, has been honored as a D3hoops.com Second-Team All-American, capping off a remarkable collegiate career. ​

Earlier this week, Sorensen was recognized as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-American and earned a spot on the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 First Team. Her leadership was instrumental in guiding the Blue Devils to their first-ever Final Four appearance this season. ​

Hailing from Centuria, Wisconsin, Sorensen has solidified her legacy as one of the program's all-time greats. She became UW-Stout's all-time leading scorer, amassing 1,754 career points and surpassing the previous record of 1,738 points set by Julia Hirssig in 2010. Sorensen also holds the school record for career points per game, averaging 16.4 over her tenure.

This season, Sorensen led the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in field goal percentage at 55.1% and ranked third in scoring with an average of 18.4 points per game. She also contributed significantly on the boards, averaging 6.9 rebounds per game, placing her eighth in the conference. Defensively, she was a force, ranking second in the WIAC with 2.2 steals per game.

Sorensen's impact was particularly evident during the Blue Devils' historic Final Four run. She elevated her performance, averaging 24.5 points per game during the tournament. Notably, she matched her career-high with a 33-point performance in UW-Stout's thrilling Elite Eight upset over Scranton.​

Sorensen's illustrious career is further highlighted by her consistent excellence. She was a D3hoops.com Third-Team All-American in 2024 and a First-Team All-Region selection in both 2024 and 2025

Her dedication, skill, and leadership have left an indelible mark on UW-Stout women's basketball, setting a standard for future generations.
