Sorensen, Mutch Earn D3hoops.com All-Region Honors as Blue Devils Continue Historic Run

MENOMONIE, Wis. – As the UW-Stout women's basketball team continues its historic postseason run, two key players have earned recognition for their outstanding performances this season. Senior Raegan Sorensen, a Centuria, Wis. native and graduate of Unity High School, was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 9 First Team, while fellow senior Anna Mutch, an Apple Valley, Minn. native, secured a spot on the Third Team.

Sorensen has been nothing short of dominant for the Blue Devils, solidifying her place as one of the greatest players in program history. With 1,725 career points, she now ranks second all-time in UW-Stout history and is just 14 points away from breaking the program's all-time career scoring record. She currently holds the school record for highest career points per game at 16.1 and averaged 17.9 points per game this season. Sorensen also led the WIAC in field goal percentage, showcasing her efficiency on the court.

In addition to her scoring prowess, Sorensen has been a force on the boards. She ranks fifth all-time in career rebounds for UW-Stout with 729 and averaged 6.3 rebounds per game this season. Her contributions have been especially vital in the Blue Devils' unprecedented Final Four run, where she has elevated her game even further, averaging 24.5 points per contest. She matched her career-high with a 33-point performance in UW-Stout's thrilling Elite Eight upset over Scranton.

Mutch has also etched her name into UW-Stout history, climbing to fourth all-time in career points with 1,442 while averaging 13.6 points per game. She has been a consistent presence on the glass, ranking eighth all-time in career rebounds with 654, averaging 4.4 per game. Throughout the season, Mutch has been the Blue Devils' go-to player in clutch moments, and her impact has been evident during the team's postseason run. She has averaged 17.5 points and 5 rebounds per game in the NCAA Tournament, including a career-high 31-point explosion to lead UW-Stout past No. 7 Whitman in the Round of 32.

The Blue Devils' magical run to the Final Four marks the first time in program history the team has reached this stage. After advancing to the Sweet 16 last season—matching the program's previous deepest run from 2007—this year's squad has taken it even further, rewriting history along the way.

Sorensen and Mutch's well-earned All-Region honors underscore the incredible seasons they have put together, and their leadership has been instrumental in propelling UW-Stout onto the national stage. As the Blue Devils prepare for their Final Four showdown, they do so with two of the program's all-time greats leading the charge.
