Sebastian Monaco was named WIAC Kwik Trip Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 1-7.
Sebastian Monaco, a freshman goalie from Caledon, Ontario, made 60 saves (.968 save %, 0.96 GAA) to give UW-Stout a five-point weekend. He made 40 saves at UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 5, to earn a 2-2 tie, before blanking the Pointers in the shoot-out to pick up the extra point. Monaco then made 20 saves to blank (RV) UW-Superior at home on Dec. 6, to earn his first career shutout. Lifting the Blue Devils to their first home win over UW-Superior since Dec. 2021, and first home shut out over the Yellowjackets since Jan. 2015. The only goals he allowed over the weekend were on the power play, stopping 11 shots across nine opponent PP opportunities.
