Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Blue Devils Fall on the Road at Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — UW-Stout couldn't overcome a fast start by No. 14 UW-Eau Claire, falling 5–1 Saturday night at Hobbs Ice Arena. The Blugolds scored twice in the opening eight minutes and added two more in the second period to build an insurmountable lead.

Maksis Brimanis put the Blue Devils on the board midway through the third period, ripping home a power-play goal at 9:51 off feeds from Arhip Sidarovich and Gunner Moore. The goal briefly cut the deficit to 4–1 before Eau Claire sealed the game with an empty-netter in the final minutes.

Dawson Green turned away 26 shots in net for the Blue Devils, including several high-danger chances to keep Stout within reach through the first two periods.

The loss evens UW-Stout's WIAC record at 1–1 and moves the Blue Devils to 4–2 overall on the season.
