LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - TRANSLYVANIA: Transylvania University Pioneers are 29-0 and ranked second in the nation in both the D3hoops.com and WBCA coaches top-25 pool. The defending national champions are currently riding a 62-game winning streak. The Pioneers boast a 31.2 scoring margin and are holding opponents to just 42.1 points a game. The Pioneers are coached by Juli Fulks, who is two wins shy of 400 for her career (398-142). She was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the third straight season. Transy has the HCAC Player of the Year in Dasia Thornton. She finished the season second in the HCAC in scoring (14.8 ppg), first in rebounds (209 total, 8.4 rpg), first in field goal percentage (143-242 FGs, 59%), and in blocks (38). She earned 9 double-doubles this season. Kennedi Stacy was named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year. Stacy finished the 2023-2024 regular season first on the team 44 steals while finishing second with 74 assists. She had a season high 7 steals in the win over Earlham to start 2024 and had a season high 23 points in the win over Maryville in November. Laken Ball, Sydney Wright and Sadie Wurth were all named second-team All-HCAC.
