Sorensen Sets School Record, Places Fourth at Nationals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - UW-Stout's Raegan Sorensen set a school record in the javelin (44.12m) to finish fourth at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to earn All-American Honors.

Sorensen's record throw of 44.12 meters (144' 9"), broke her own school record she set last week by 2.66 meters. In the span of a week she has increased the school record by over 13 feet.

After three throws, Sorensen was sitting in ninth place heading into the final flight. All three of her next throws were over 43 meters with her last throw setting the new school mark and moving her into fourth.

The fourth place finish earned Sorensen her first All-American honors, her first as a Blue Devil. Earlier this year, she has named to the all-region team in basketball, in 2021 she was named WIAC Newcomer of the Year in both outdoor track and basketball.
