MENOMONIE - The Blue Devils dropped a home conference doubleheader to UW-Whitewater at Nelson Field on a blustery Monday afternoon. Stout fell 18-2 and 15-5.
GAME ONE
Whitewater scored five runs in the first on a two-out bases loaded double that drove in three and a two-run single to take the 5-0 lead and they never looked back.
Riley Boushack homered in the bottom of the first but Stout couldn't get any closer as UWW scored three in the fourth, two in the fifth, four int he sixth and three in the seventh to roll to the big 18-2 win.
Justin Sedin went 2-3 and
Nolan Harke and
Jack Schirpke had the other hits for Stout.
GAME TWO
Stout fell 15-5 in game two as the Warhawks hit three three-run home runs to complete the sweep.
Justin Sedin scored on a wild pitch in the first and Stout led 1-0 after one. UWW responded with four runs in the fourth and fifth innings and tacked on five in the sixth secure the win. Stout made a late rally scoring four in the bottom of the seventh to trim the lead to 15-5. Sedin went 2-4 and
Jake Thomas picked up his first Collegiate hit.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils will be back in action on Wednesday May 3 when they travel to Eau Claire to face the Blugolds in a doubleheader at Carosn Park. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
